The method of controlling an engine of a hybrid electric vehicle of the disclosure includes determining whether the engine is in a warmed-up state when a fully automatic temperature control system makes a heating request, making an engine startup request for heating to an engine management system configured to control the engine when the engine is in the warmed-up state, and selectively requesting the engine management system to perform cylinder deactivation (CDA) control on at least some of a plurality of cylinders of the engine depending on whether the engine is in an idling state.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POWERTRAIN OF HYBRID VEHICLE
A method for controlling a powertrain of a hybrid vehicle includes the following steps performed by a hybrid controller: determining whether an ambient air temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature; driving a motor and operating a heating disc of an electrically heated catalytic converter disposed in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine during a predetermined operating time when an ambient air temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature; supplying ambient air to the heating disc; and varying a flow rate of the ambient air supplied to the heating disc in response to a temperature change of the heating disc.
Hybrid vehicle
A hybrid vehicle includes: an internal combustion engine; a rotating electric machine; a planetary gear mechanism to which the internal combustion engine, the rotating electric machine and an output shaft are connected; a catalyst that purifies exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine; and a controller that controls the internal combustion engine and the rotating electric machine. The controller controls the internal combustion engine and the rotating electric machine to perform catalyst temperature control to shift an operating point on a map representing a relationship between rotation speed of the internal combustion engine and torque generated by the internal combustion engine so that the catalyst has a temperature within an appropriate temperature range. Degradation of the catalyst can be suppressed without deteriorating the function of the catalyst.

Methods and systems are provided for controlling a vehicle including a manual transmission to prevent cold-start drive-away. In one example, a method for a vehicle with a driver clutch pedal may include preventing one of a clutch coupled between an input of a transmission and an engine output from closing and a driver-operated gearshift lever for adjusting a gear of the transmission from coming out of neutral in response to a catalyst light-off condition.
Method for controlling braking of a vehicle
The invention provides a method for controlling braking of a vehicle (1) driving along a downhill portion of a road, the vehicle comprising a propulsion arrangement (2, 3), for the propulsion of the vehicle, the method comprising dividing the road portion into a plurality of sections (RS0-RS2), the sections comprising a first section (RS1), and a second section (RS2) following, in the direction of travel of the vehicle, immediately upon the first section (RS1), determining, for the road portion, a road portion control strategy, with a condition that braking on the road portion is done at least partly by means of the propulsion arrangement (2, 3), wherein determining the road portion control strategy comprises determining a speed (SD21), on the second section (RS2), with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the second section, and/or, where the propulsion arrangement comprises an internal combustion engine (2), and a gearbox (3), determining a gear selection (GS2) on the second section (RS2), with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the second section, and wherein determining the road portion control strategy comprises determining, for the first section (RS1), a first section control strategy, with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the first section, and with an aim to provide a vehicle speed at the end of the first section (RS1) which is the same as said determined speed (SD21) on the second section (RS2), and/or to provide a gear selection at the end of the first section which is the same as said determined gear selection (GS2) on the second section (RS2), the method further comprising controlling the vehicle (1) according to the determined road portion control strategy.
Control device
A control device for a hybrid vehicle is provided with a driving plan preparing part preparing a driving plan setting one or more via-points on a projected route from a starting point to a destination to divide the projected route into a plurality of driving routes and divide the driving routes further into pluralities of driving sections and setting which driving mode of an EV mode or HV mode to drive over in each driving section and with a driving mode switching part switching the driving modes according to a driving plan. The driving plan preparing part is configured to be able to prepare a driving plan setting the driving modes of all driving sections in at least one driving route to the EV mode.
