A system includes at least one sensor coupled to an aftertreatment system and a controller having at least one processor coupled to at least one memory device storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the controller to perform operations. The operations include: adjusting an operating point of an engine in response to emissions information from the at least one sensor and based on a fault indicator regarding a component of the system; and, controlling an electric motor in response to the adjustment of the operating point of the engine based on a change in power output from the engine to assist in a desired emissions characteristic.

Methods and systems for an aftertreatment arrangement

Methods and systems are provided for partially regenerating a lean No.sub.x trap in response to an engine shutdown request. In one example, an engine shutdown is delayed so that a low-temperature storing region of the lean No.sub.x trap is regenerated without regenerating a high-temperature storing region of the lean No.sub.x trap.

CONTROL METHOD FOR HYBRID VEHICLE AND CONTROL DEVICE FOR HYBRID VEHICLE

A control method for a hybrid vehicle is provided. The hybrid vehicle includes: a generator configured to charge a battery by using power of an engine; an electric motor configured to drive a driving wheel by electric power of the battery; and a particulate filter configured to collect particulate matter contained in exhaust gas from the engine. In the control method, the engine is driven to raise a temperature of the particulate filter when a first temperature rise condition is satisfied in which a first predetermined amount or more of the particulate matter is accumulated in the particulate filter and the temperature of the particulate filter is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature. Drive of the engine is prohibited, when a predetermined first condition that a driver does not intend to drive the engine is satisfied.

Systems and method for exhaust warm-up strategy

Methods and systems are provided for controlling a vehicle engine to adjust exhaust warm-up strategy based on a vehicle network information. In one example, in response to an expected decrease in temperature of a catalyst of a vehicle below a threshold and an estimated duration thereof based on communications external from the vehicle, a method may include delaying catalyst heating actions, when the catalyst heating actions are determined to be unable to heat up the catalyst to threshold temperatures. However, the catalyst heating actions may be enabled when the catalyst heating actions are determined to be able to achieve the threshold temperature within the duration.
