A dolly includes a frame having an axle extending between dolly wheels and defining a pivot axis. The frame has a support member with a ground-engaging element spaced apart from the dolly wheels. A lever arm is mounted to the frame and extends to a handle. The lever arm is positioned on a first side of the axle. A container support is mounted to the frame on the first side of the axle. The handle is manipulable to pivot the support member, the lever arm, and the container support about the pivot axis between at least a storage position and a discharge position. In the storage position, the container axis has an upright orientation and the ground-engaging element is spaced from the ground surface. In the discharge position, the container axis has an orientation being substantially parallel to the ground surface, and the ground-engaging element abuts against the ground surface.

Implementations of a wheelbarrow are provided. In some implementations, the wheelbarrow comprises a receptacle, a front wheel having an axle extending therethrough, a frame, handles, and a self balancer operatively connected to the frame. In some implementations, the front end, back end, first side, second side, and bottom of the receptacle are curved. In some implementations, the frame includes a first tube and second tube. In some implementations, each of the first tube and the second has a first portion that is concave and extends along the bottom and back end of the receptacle, a second portion that extends from the first portion towards the wheel and is convex, and a third portion that extends from the second portion toward the axle and is straight. In some implementations, the distal end of the third portion of the first tube and the second is operatively connected to the axle. In some implementations, the self balancer is configured so that the receptacle does not make contact with a surface when the wheel and the self balancer are in contact with the surface.

Embodiments of the invention are designed to be improvements over existing wheelbarrows. Certain embodiments comprise a frame, one or more weight-bearing wheels, and a pan. In certain embodiments, a wheelbarrow comprises a bight or a bumper having wheels. The wheels on the bight or bumper are located to the sides of a weight-bearing wheel. In certain embodiments, wheels located on each side of a bight or bumper portion allow a user to maneuver a wheelbarrow up or down a curb, or navigate stairs without causing damage to surfaces. Certain embodiments of the invention allow more efficient unloading of the contents of a wheelbarrow bed. Certain embodiments are designed to retrofit on existing wheelbarrows.

Three wheel cargo cart with lifting drawbar
09758184 · 2017-09-12 ·

A three wheel cart that is adjustable in both length and width for cargo such as ice chests. The cart provides a pair of rear wheels, a horizontal load platform, and a front drawbar with a third wheel for easy pulling or pushing. The drawbar and third wheel retract under the cart. All adjustments are made without wrenches utilizing a large soft hand nut. The width adjustment is interconnected by a mechanism so that cargo width retainers slide in and out simultaneously along with the cart main wheels. When the drawbar is raised into its towing position the cart's front support leg is levered off the ground by the third wheel. This capability minimizes the lifting effort required when towing the cart. As the drawbar is lowered the support leg becomes an automatic parking brake. The operator cannot abandon the cart without the brake being applied.

A powered wheelbarrow assembly includes a wheelbarrow that includes a frame and a bucket that is hingedly coupled to the frame. A pair of front wheels is each rotatably coupled to the frame to roll on a support surface. A pair of rear wheels is each pivotally coupled to the frame to roll on the support surface. Each of the rear wheels is rotatable about a vertical axis for steering the wheelbarrow. A motor is coupled to the frame and a drive unit is movably coupled to the frame. The drive unit is in mechanical communication between the motor and the front wheels such that the motor rotates the front wheels when the motor is engaged. In this way the motor reduces the effort required to transport a load in the wheelbarrow. A clutch is movably coupled to the frame for engaging and disengaging the drive unit.
