Retractable steering column system and method
A steering column system includes a steering column shaft. Also included is a steering input device coupled to the steering column shaft. Further included is an energy absorbing mechanism operatively engaged with at least one of the steering column shaft and the steering input device. Yet further included is a column adjustment assembly configured to translate the steering column shaft between a retracted position and a driving position. Also included is at least one signal indicating whether the steering column shaft is in the retracted position or the driving position, and when the steering column shaft is in the retracted position, directional control of a vehicle is automated and the energy absorbing mechanism is in a non-operational state, and when the steering column shaft is returned to the driving position as indicated by the at least one signal, the energy absorbing mechanism is in an operational state.

TILT STRUCTURE FOR CONSOLE
A tilt structure to be provided allows the tilt of a console to be changed through simple motion and has a simple configuration. A link mechanism (a mechanism similar to a slider crank mechanism) composed of three turning pairs and one sliding pair is formed using a first frame 20, a second frame 25, a slider 37, and a connection member 30. The tilt structure includes a control member 40 or 47 for fixing or unfixing the tilt of the second frame 25. The control member 40 or 47 is provided controllably in order to lock or unlock motion of the link mechanism.
TILT STRUCTURE FOR CONSOLE AND CONSOLE
A tilt structure allows the tilt of a console to be changed through simple motion and has a simple configuration. The tilt structure includes: a second frame attached to an upper portion of a first frame and is swingable upward and downward; and a control member attached to the second frame and is tiltable backward and forward through a tilting shaft. The control member includes a guide part with a groove housing a first frame pin. A locked and unlocked state switch to each other by causing the control member to tilt. The locked state includes a pin engaged with any of the engagement parts. The unlocked state includes the pin disengaged. The tilt of the second frame relative to the first frame is changed by engaging the pin with an arbitrary engagement part of any of the engagement parts and changing a distance between the tilting shaft and pin.

Bracket and steering apparatus
A bracket includes a first plate that faces a steering column, a second plate that faces a column cover covering the steering column, and a third plate that connects the first plate and the second plate, and a fourth plate that intersects with the first plate and the third plate.

TILT STRUCTURE FOR CONSOLE
A tilt structure to be provided allows the tilt of a console to be changed through simple motion and has a simple configuration. A control member 30 is coupled to a second frame 25 at a first coupling position P1 and is coupled to a first frame 20 at a second coupling position P2 provided below the first coupling position P1. Controlling the control member 30 makes the height of the first coupling position P1 adjustable. The tilt of the second frame 25 is changed in response to the height of the first coupling position P1.
STEERING DEVICE
A steering device includes a steering column for supporting a steering shaft coupled to a steering wheel; an upper bracket fixed to a vehicle body and supports the steering column; and two lower brackets independently fixed to the vehicle body on both sides of the steering column to support the steering column in such a manner that allows the steering column to sway in a vertical direction. The lower brackets each includes a fixed portion facing the vehicle body and disposed on an outside of the steering column in a vehicle width direction, a pivot portion facing the steering column and having an attachment hole into which a pin member for coupling the steering column to the lower bracket is inserted, and a pair of rib portions each connected to the fixed portion and the pivot portion by a bent portion shaped into a bent plate.
