A planing system for a multi-hull watercraft comprising a hull defining a plurality of hulls and at least one channel between at least two of the hull portions comprises a planing surface and an actuator system. The planing surface is supported for movement within the at least one channel between an upper position and a lower position. The actuator system is arranged to displace the planing surface from the upper position to the lower position. The watercraft operates in a first mode when the planing surface is in the upper position and in a second mode when the planing surface is in the lower position. When the watercraft operates in the second mode, the planing surface engages water to cause the vessel to plane.

Embodiments described herein provide a collapsible high-performance multi-hulled watercraft which may be easily assembled/disassembled and comprised of a plurality of symmetrically shaped planar hulls which are laterally spaced and provide a shallow water draft; a deck platform releasably attached and overlying the plurality of symmetrically shaped planar hulls having at least one seat, marine radar, translucent protective shield and skid plate; and at least one propulsion unit which may releasably attached to the platform and which extends below the water line to enable high performance stability and maneuverability to the vessel.

A boat hull comprises a central hull having top and bottom portions and first and second side hulls slidably supported from the top portion of the central hull so as to be transversely extendable relative thereto. The bottom portion of the central hull is rotatably connected to the top portion so as to be movable between raised and lowered positions. A method of reconfiguring the boat hull comprises slidably displacing first and second side hulls relative to a central hull and rotatably displacing a bottom portion of the central hull relative to a top portion from a raised position to a lowered position between the first and second side hulls.
