WATER ENGAGEMENT DEVICE ACTUATOR
20230041461 · 2023-02-09 ·

A water engagement actuator system and device comprising a rotary actuator connected to a support structure adapted to be connected to a marine vessel is provided. The rotary actuator includes a driven shaft and a undriven slave shaft disposed opposite the driven shaft. The rotary actuator further comprises at least one pair of bearings enclosed within a clean sealed environment; water engagement device having an arced blade connected to the driven shaft; at least one encoder disposed in a space separating the undriven slave shaft from the driven shaft. A controller is communicatively connected to the rotary actuator to command rotation of the driven shaft such that the water engagement device is automatically moved to a position between a retracted position and a deployed position in order to provide dynamic active control of the marine vessel. The rotary actuator is further configured to absorb any hydrodynamic drag load generated from the marine vessel with no more than two rotary shaft seals and counteract any unintended disturbance by automatic deployment of the arced blade—at 100 mm/s or more—into the water and provide dynamic active control of a marine vessel.

MOUNTING PLATE ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM

An assembly adapted for mounting a water engagement device to a marine vessel may include a transom plate, an actuator plate and a clamping assembly. The transom plate may be adapted to be connected to the marine vessel. The actuator plate may include a flange that is disposed under a bottom side of the transom plate. The clamping assembly is configured to engage the transom plate and the actuator plate to connect the actuator plate to the transom plate.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING A WAKE PROFILE FOR PONTOON BOATS

A system for enhancing a wake profile produced by a pontoon boat is provided. The system includes a pair of ramps attached to the bottom of a platform supported by at least two pontoons. The ramps may be oriented downward with a rear end of the ramp disposed in the water between the pontoons. The water flowing between the pontoons is displaced downward by the ramps, thereby increasing water displacement and directing the water to produce an improved wake profile. Downforce may be applied to the boat by one or more wake plates, with a faceted portion of the wake plate facing forward and upward, such that when water impacts the faceted portion a downforce is provided. The wake plates may be attached to the ramps or may be separate from the ramps.

WAKE SHAPING APPARATUS AND RELATED TECHNOLOGY

The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. The wake shaping apparatus can include a blade and be configured such that an angular orientation of the blade is adjustable. In certain embodiments, the wake shaping apparatus is inflatable.

WATER FLOW DEFLECTION DEVICE FOR A WATERCRAFT AND METHODS OF USE

A water flow deflection device attached to a side of a watercraft to enhance the watercraft's wake. The device having a narrow, elongated base with two ends and a base width, the base aligned along the side of the watercraft when the device is attached to the watercraft. A deflector attached to the base between the two ends and having a face spanning between a leading end and an opposing end, the leading end extending outwardly from the base. The deflector face having a surface area configured to deflect water and a deflector width greater than the base width. The base removably attachable to the watercraft by a plurality of suction cup assemblies, wherein a greater number of suction cup assemblies located between the first end and the leading end of the deflector than between the second end and the leading end of the deflector.

DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING PITCH, ROLL AND/OR STEERING OF A BOAT
20220001964 · 2022-01-06 · ·

A device for controlling pitch, roll and/or steering of a boat, ship or vessel has a length direction and a height direction and includes at least two actuators, at least two actuating means, at least two crankshafts and an interceptor member. Each actuator is adapted to interact with the corresponding actuating means. The actuating means are adapted to interact with the interceptor member, such that the interceptor member is linearly displaceable between a retracted and an extracted position. Each actuating means is adapted to interact with the corresponding crankshaft, which thereby rotates. The crankshafts interact with the interceptor member such that rotations of the crankshafts consequently lead to a displacement of the interceptor member between the retracted and the extracted position. A boat, ship or vessel include the device.
