TECHNIQUES FOR MONITORING WINDLASS ROTATION
20230032340 · 2023-02-02 ·

Methods and apparatus for monitoring windlass rotation are provided to determine the real time rate and length of rode release when anchoring a boat. The rotation can be monitored in real time using directional sound and/or electromagnetic radiation receivers and/or transmitter in a module attached to the windlass. Another windlass module can monitor windlass rotation using micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) components such as accelerometers, magnetometers, gyroscopes, and/or inertial measurement units (IMU) to sense motion and/or position.

Watercraft Mooring System
20230131021 · 2023-04-27 ·

A watercraft mooring system comprising a plurality of interchangeable mooring members for the temporary mooring of one watercraft to another watercraft or one watercraft to a stationary object such as a dock. The interchangeable mooring members comprising connecting rod member embodiments with adjustable lengths and connecting rod members without adjustable lengths, vacuum-handle member embodiments that provide an initial vacuum and a continuous vacuum to one or more vacuum cup assemblies, and a cleat connector member embodiment that is interchangeable with a vacuum-handle member. Embodiments of vacuum-handle member providing up to three points of omni-directional pivot functionality between the present invention and a temporarily moored watercraft.

Automatic Location Placement System

A method of automatically moving, by an automatic location placement system, a marine vessel includes receiving, by a central processing unit, from a vision ranging photography system, at least one optical feed including data providing a mapping of an environment surrounding a marine vessel. The method includes displaying, by the central processing unit, on a touch screen monitor, the mapping of the environment. The method includes receiving, by the central processing unit, from the touch screen monitor, target location data. The method includes directing, by the central processing unit, at least one element of a propulsion system of the marine vessel, to move the marine vessel to the targeted location, using the mapping.

DISCONNECTABLE YOKE MOORING SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES FOR USING SAME

Yoke mooring systems and processes for using same. The system can include a turntable connected to and rotatable with respect to a base. A yoke can be connected to the turntable such that the yoke can at least partially rotate about a longitudinal axis of the yoke and at least partially rotate about a second axis that can be orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. A first and second link arm can be connected to the yoke and to a first component of a first and a second releasable connector, respectively. A first and second lifting line can be connected to the second end of the first and second link arms, respectively. A first and second lifting device can be disposed on a vessel and configured to be connected to a second end of the first and second lifting lines, respectively, to lift and lower the link arms and the yoke.

Dock stabilizing pile guide
11649600 · 2023-05-16 ·

A dock stabilizing pile guide device includes a frame attached to a floating dock and enclosing a respective piling. The frame carries a plurality of rollers that rotatably interengage the piling and guide the dock upwardly and downwardly along the piling as the depth of the underlying water changes.

BOAT ANCHOR MONITORING SYSTEM
20230202625 · 2023-06-29 ·

A boat anchor monitoring system is disclosed and includes a status indicator and an anchor module that are operable to communicate with a base module. The anchor module includes a transmitter operable to transmit a signal containing a data payload on a set schedule. The base module on the boat is operable to determine if the signal strength exceeds, or is equal to a predetermined threshold value, in order to direct the status indicator to either display the anchor in a “Deployed” or “Not Deployed” position. The system may further include a time measurement component or water contact sensor that will direct the indicator to display the anchor in a deployed position if sufficient time has elapsed with no signal or the anchor module has contacted water. The system is also configured to prevent ignition if the anchor is determined to be deployed.

MOORING PULLEY TENSIONING SYSTEM
