LIGHTWEIGHT, ADJUSTABLE BOUYANCY SCUBA UNIT
20230060077 · 2023-02-23 ·

Conventional SCUBA diving equipment is heavy and cumbersome, mainly due to the mass and size of the breathing gas carrier, i.e. the pressure vessel. A preferred pressure vessel for SCUBA diving can be as light as possible and neutrally buoyant at all stages of the dive. To achieve such preferred characteristics, the pressure vessel volume can be adjusted in accordance with the change in its mass. The present invention provides SCUBA systems that provides for the preferred characteristics.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING INPUTS TO A CAPACITANCE INTERFACE

An underwater case contains a device for use in wet and dry conditions, such as underwater, extreme hot or cold conditions, or the like. The underwater case includes one or more waterproof seals to keep a contained device safe. The case includes a controller including a non-volatile memory and processor, a radio module configured to provide a short-range wireless connection between the controller and the device and an integrated connection module configured to activate the device. The case includes an input component connected to the controller and configured to receive one or more inputs from a user and transmit, via the short-range wireless connection, instructions to the device based on the one or more inputs.

Water survival mask

A water survival mask that seals to the user's face covering the nose and mouth and preventing the unwanted inhalation of water. The mask lets air in through slots located at the bottom of the mask that also allow water to drain out. Once through the slots, water is prevented from entering the mask by a water impermeable barrier that selectively allows for air and not water to be inhaled, which may be a float valve. If water penetrates through the water impermeable barrier it is caught by splash guards and funneled back out of the mask before it can enter the primary airway of the user. The water survival mask works exceptionally well at preventing inhalation of windblown water droplets or wave water when floating in rough waters, thereby preventing pulmonary aspiration and pulmonary edema. It also prevents immediate inhalation of water do to submersion in cold water.

UNDERWATER COMMUNICATION INTERFACE APPARATUS

An underwater communication interface apparatus includes a first waterproof enclosure having an interior configured to house an electronic device with a touchscreen in such a way that the touchscreen of the electronic device is adjacent to a first side of the first waterproof enclosure. The first side of the first waterproof enclosure has a non-rigid transparent membrane and the non-rigid transparent membrane is configured to allow a user to interact with the touchscreen of the electronic device. The apparatus also includes a second waterproof enclosure that houses a control module. The control module is configured to be operatively coupled to the electronic device and an external auxiliary device. The apparatus further includes a pressure balancing module coupled to the first waterproof enclosure. The pressure balancing module is configured to balance pressure within the first waterproof enclosure relative to external ambient conditions. The first and second waterproof enclosures are physically coupled together. An internal pressure of the first waterproof enclosure enables the non-rigid transparent membrane of the first waterproof enclosure to remain within a predetermined distance to the touchscreen of the electronic device. The predetermined distance is one that allows the touchscreen of the electronic device to receive inputs from the user via the non-rigid transparent membrane.

Human-powered underwater propulsor

A human-powered underwater propulsor for user's moving in water mainly has a power generating module provided within a receiving space inside a waterproof airbag, and the power generating module is coupled to a propulsion unit. The receiving space is formed with an opening end provided with a waterproof ring to be worn by user in such a manner that the receiving space is hermetically sealed to prevent water from entering the receiving space during diving. When user pedals by stepping on two pedals of the power generating module, the power generating module is actuated to cause the flapping of the propulsion unit. Hence, the human-powered underwater propulsor allows user to exercise his feet in the air to reduce drag in diving so that user can moves more easily in the water.
