Continuous motion packaging machine with rotating flights

A packaging machine for placing articles into a carton includes rotating flight assemblies that receive a carton or carton blank, and rotate the carton blank and carton with articles while the flight assemblies move downstream. The flight assemblies each include two fixed segments and one segment that includes a block and associated bracket that rotate as the flight assembly is pulled through the machine by a conveying system. A method includes carton blanks being fed by a carton feeder onto the flight assemblies. Articles are formed into an article group, which is then placed onto a carton blank. As the blank and article group move in a downstream direction, the side panels of the carton blank are wrapped around the article group and the carton and article group are rotated to assist in closing the carton end flaps.

The first holding unit moves to decrease tension of the held film after the peripheral edge portion on the rear side starts to be folded into the underside of the article to be packaged before the extruding unit starts to extrude the article to be packaged from the rear side to the front side.

PACKAGING

An insert for a flow wrapped packaging assembly has a bottom wall (18) and a peripheral wall (20) extending from said bottom wall to define an interior volume (21) for containing product (14). The insert has a tongue (20) at a top end of the peripheral wall which is movable between a closed position in which it at least partially closes the interior volume at the top end of the insert and an open position in which it does not impede access to the interior volume. The insert (12) can be top-filled when upright with the tongue open and then moved to a horizontal orientation for flow wrapping using a HFFS process with the tongue closed to prevent the contents spilling out. The insert is particularly suitable for enabling a plurality of disc-shape products, such as beverage pads, to be flow wrapped using HFFS processes.

PACKAGING

An insert for a flow wrapped packaging assembly has a bottom wall (18) and a peripheral wall (20) extending from said bottom wall to define an interior volume (21) for containing product (14). The insert has a tongue (20) at a top end of the peripheral wall which is movable between a closed position in which it at least partially closes the interior volume at the top end of the insert and an open position in which it does not impede access to the interior volume. The insert (12) can be top-filled when upright with the tongue open and then moved to a horizontal orientation for flow wrapping using a HFFS process with the tongue closed to prevent the contents spilling out. The insert is particularly suitable for enabling a plurality of disc-shape products, such as beverage pads, to be flow wrapped using HFFS processes.

Sleeve wrapping device

A sleeve wrapping device includes a first fixing base, a second fixing base, a first supporting frame protruded from the first fixing base, a second supporting frame protruded from the second fixing base, a first roller mounted on the first supporting frame, a second roller mounted on the second supporting frame, and a sleeve wrapping film comprising a substrate and a plurality of adhesive layers. The first roller and the second roller move back and forth relative to the first supporting frame and the second supporting frame. The sleeve wrapping device is switched between a first state that the first roller and the second roller are in contact with each other and a second state that the first roller and the second roller are separated. The substrate winds the first roller and the second roller.

A sleeve wrapping device includes a first fixing base, a second fixing base, a first supporting frame protruded from the first fixing base, a second supporting frame protruded from the second fixing base, a first roller mounted on the first supporting frame, a second roller mounted on the second supporting frame, and a sleeve wrapping film comprising a substrate and a plurality of adhesive layers. The first roller and the second roller move back and forth relative to the first supporting frame and the second supporting frame. The sleeve wrapping device is switched between a first state that the first roller and the second roller are in contact with each other and a second state that the first roller and the second roller are separated. Banding and packaging device

The present invention provides a device including an article carry-in mechanism (1A) that transports an article (w) to a packaging position (P), an article carry-out mechanism (1B) that carries the article (w) away from the packaging position (P), and a relaying mechanism (1C) disposed between the article carry-in mechanism (1A) and the article carry-out mechanism (1B). The relaying mechanism (1C) receives and supports the transported article (w) from below in a center part of the article (w) in a direction of its width.

Banding and packaging device

The present invention provides a device including an article carry-in mechanism (1A) that transports an article (w) to a packaging position (P), an article carry-out mechanism (1B) that carries the article (w) away from the packaging position (P), and a relaying mechanism (1C) disposed between the article carry-in mechanism (1A) and the article carry-out mechanism (1B). The relaying mechanism (1C) receives and supports the transported article (w) from below in a center part of the article (w) in a direction of its width.
