The cartridge has a continuous length of storage film therein. The storage film emanates through a gap between a rim and a core tube of the cartridge and is folded down through a core opening in the core tube into an interior space of the body of the waste storage container. The sealing mechanism includes an actuator accessible from outside the body, a gear assembly operably connected to the actuator, a retaining assembly that holds stationary a dispensed portion of the storage film in the interior space of the body during a twist-closure operation, and a plunger operably connected to the gear assembly
Apparatus and method for sealing or tying products
An apparatus for sealing or tying products, comprising a housing with at least a first tape dispenser and a star wheel, a slot defined by or through the housing, wherein the star wheel extends at least partly in said slot, wherein the star wheel comprises a series of first cells and a series of second cells, the first and second cells being intermittently disposed in the star wheel, each cell being open to a periphery of the star wheel and two opposite sides thereof, wherein an urging device is provided having at least one edge portion for urging at least one product to be tied into one of the cells, especially a first cell.
Apparatus and method for sealing or tying products
An apparatus for sealing or tying products includes a housing with a first tape dispenser comprising adhesive tape and binding means for binding tape from the a dispenser around a product or a bundle of products, At least one supply device is provided for supplying items to be connected, to the product or bundle of products. The binding means comprises a cell and an urging device for urging part of the product or bundle of products into the cell, especially towards a closed side of the cell. The urging device comprises a holding provision for holding an item provided by the supply device, such that when the urging device is operated for urging the product or bundle of products into the cell the item is urged against the product or bundle of products, preferably prior to binding the tape around the product or bundle of products in the cell.

Method and apparatus for closing sacks and bags
A cover for use with sacks for covering the mouth of a sack after it has been filled, to prevent its contents from spilling. One application is for recyclable yard waste sacks that are used to carry yard waste such as leaves, or used for carrying food scraps from restaurants. The sacks being made of paper so that they can be composted, require a cover that is made of paper that can be recycled as well. Some embodiments of the cover utilized a paper with a plurality of holes or die-cut slits that stretch into a hexagonal three dimensional shape when pulled, and contracts when released. The unusual elasticity afforded to ordinary paper by the slit holes patterns is used to create a sack cover that can stretch to close a sack without tearing. The elasticity is utilized to create sufficient griping force on the mouth of the sack to resist dislodgement of the cover when the sack tips over. A few embodiments of the cover utilize a hybrid design in which both ordinary and slitted paper are used. Other embodiments of the cover are made of ordinary paper with a drawstring.
