Labeling systems and methods of making and using same
A method for printing and applying labels comprises printing indicia on a first label using a printer to form a first printed label and holding the first printed label in a holding tray. The method includes moving an arm from an original position to a first position to collect the first printed label from the holding tray, and rotating the arm in a first direction to move the first printed label towards a substrate. The method comprises moistening the first printed label to activate a dissolvable liner of the first printed label. The method includes using the arm to apply the moistened first printed label to the substrate. The arm is rotated in a second direction away from the substrate. The printer prints a second label before the arm returns to the original position to collect the second label from the holding tray.
High speed label applicator systems and methods
A label application system for applying paper non-pressure adhesive labels to relatively short, round, straight-walled articles is constructed and designed so that labels to be applied to passing articles are delivered to the label application zone on a vacuum conveyor in a short feed orientation, with each label being oriented lengthwise across a width of the vacuum conveyor. At the time of labeling, the label is held stationary on a flat vacuum surface, and the label is applied by spinning the articles past the vacuum surface. As a result, the system is capable of labeling articles at processing speeds of up to or exceeding 800 articles per minute.
LABELING DEVICE
The present disclosure provides a fully automated labeling device which comprises: a transport device for transporting the objects, a label providing device, a label transfer device for transferring labels, a gluing device for applying glue onto the labels, an artificial intelligence open-loop and/or closed-loop control device, and a sensor system having a plurality of sensor units for monitoring a plurality of operating parameters and quality parameters, and outputting a plurality of sensor data. The open-loop and/or closed-loop control device is designed to obtain the sensor data from the sensor system and to fully automatically control and/or regulate the setting and adjusting of the operating parameters on the basis of these sensor data.
Glue delivery system
A glue delivery system and method for providing precise application of glue on a substrate. A bead of glue is extruded from a first glue chamber to a leading edge of the substrate. A trailing edge of the substrate is blown off and over to the nozzle to receive a smear of glue from a second glue chamber. A gear pump is controlled by a servo drive that is connected to a servomotor utilizing a gear reducer. The pump regulates the extrusion of the glue onto the substrate that is programmed with empirical data of gear reducer ratio at which the glue flows within a constant speed, torque, current, speed and position of the glue. The empirical data is provided to a programmable logic circuit to achieve a precise pressure related to volume of a glue deposition and speed of the substrate onto which the glue is applied.

LINER-FREE LABEL APPLICATION
A system includes an applicator including at least one aperture configured to apply fluid to a back side of a label, the back side of the label including a fluid activatable adhesive; a speed detector configured to detect a speed of the label along a label path through the system; and a control system configured to control fluid application to the label based on the speed of the label. The label may be moved by two different label drives while fluid is applied to the label by the applicator, and a speed at which the label is moved by a first drive may be used to control a speed at which the label is moved by a second drive.
Automated labeling apparatus using labels having a fluid activatable adhesive
An apparatus and method is described herein for automatically labeling using labels having a fluid activatable adhesive along the back surface of such label. The apparatus has multiple pallets each being positionable with the lowermost label of a stack of one or more labels to releasably secure by suction the label against the pallet, and multiple pads each being positionable with respect to pallets to receive labels from the pallets and then releasably retain such labels until application onto containers. Fluid for activating adhesive is applied by an applicator onto labels retained upon the pad to change the fluid activatable adhesive along the label's back surface from a non-tacky state to a tacky state just prior to application of the label onto container.
