A pallet for shipping goods, the pallet having a rigid member, a phase change material, and a temperature indicator. The rigid member includes a phase change material compartment. A phase change material is disposed in the phase change material compartment. The temperature indicator indicates a thermal state of the pallet.

A stringer and plank pallet, system and method includes a plurality of planks made of a composite material or a non-wood material and a thickness and holes defined therein comprising a plurality of post cutouts in each of a first and a second end of the plurality of planks. A plurality of stringers made of the composite or non-wood material are configured to receive the plurality of planks via a plurality of post plugs equivalent to the plank thickness and complementary to the plurality of post cutouts. An assembled outside surface relation of the plurality of stringers to the plurality of planks is self-aligning and flush. A plurality of holes are defined in the planks adjacent a first and a second end of the post cutouts to receive a plurality of fasteners driven into the plurality of stringers.

A packaging assembly for a home appliance includes a base frame including a first plank and a second plank provided parallel to the first plank, and a pair of spring clips attached to the base frame. Disclosed herein are embodiments of pallets and pallet components which can be formed from composite materials, such as composite polymer materials. The composites can include polymer-polymer composites as well as wood-polymer composites. Advantageously, the composite pallet components can be formed from recycled plastics, such as polypropylene and polyethylene, which can be acquired from used bottles.

A lightweight pallet assembly comprising a hybrid of durable corrugated material and heat-treated wood bonded with industrial strength adhesive. The pallet is constructed of one or more base components, two or more support components and a sleeve component. The sleeve component substantially covers both the one or more base components and the two or more support components to increase strength and durability of the overall pallet assembly. Embodiments of the pallet can be quickly assembled from components that can be easily and economically stored and transported. The lightweight pallet provides savings in assembly, transportation, and storage.
