Various embodiments provide a bulk material shipping container top wall assembly, and a bulk material shipping container including the top wall assembly, that provides various advantages over previously known commercially available bulk shipping material container top wall assemblies and bulk shipping material containers.

An example storage chest is provided. The example storage chest may include a box portion and a lid. The box portion may include a front wall, a rear wall, and a floor attached to the front and rear walls to form a primary compartment for storage of items. The lid may include a front panel, a rear panel, and a top panel attached to the front a rear panels. The rear panel may be pivotably coupled to the rear wall of the box portion. The front panel, the rear panel, and the top panel may define a secondary compartment within the lid for storage of items. The secondary compartment may include a lid storage compartment comprising a hingedly affixed door.

Described herein are units for transportation of cargo, and methods of using them. In some embodiments, the units are collapsible, stackable cargo units. In some embodiments, the cargo units include a generally rectangular base having a front, a rear and two sides, with forklift slots on its front, rear and each side. The cargo units may further include front and rear walls extending upward from the base. The cargo units may further include first and second side walls extending upward from the base between the front and rear walls. The first side wall may have a length greater than the second side wall. The cargo units may further include an integrated lid hingedly attached to one or more of the front, rear, and side walls.

A container includes a base, a folding sleeve and a lid. The sleeve includes several panels configured to be folded and laid out on the base such that the panels extend approximately parallel to the base, and to be unfolded and placed on the base such that the panels extend approximately perpendicular to the base, bearing through lower edges of the panels on the base, the lid being capable of bearing on top edges of the panels when the sleeve is unfolded and placed on the base. The container includes at least one band of flexible material that is fixed to the lid at at least two distant points, and that passes through an orifice in at least one of the panels, the lid configured to be guided by the at least one band when the container is opened, by sliding of the band in the orifice over at least part of the length of the band between said two points.

A bulk material shipping container including a pallet, a compartment configured to receive, hold, and release loose materials and connected to and supported by the pallet, a material unloading assembly positioned under a bottom portion of the compartment, configured to facilitate the release or unloading of loose materials from the compartment, and connected to and supported by the pallet, and a material loading assembly configured to facilitate the loading of loose materials into the compartment and connected to and partially supported by a top wall assembly of the compartment.

A bulk material shipping container including a pallet, a compartment configured to receive, hold, and release loose materials and connected to and supported by the pallet, a material unloading assembly positioned under a bottom portion of the compartment, configured to facilitate the release or unloading of loose materials from the compartment, and connected to and supported by the pallet, and a material loading assembly configured to facilitate the loading of loose materials into the compartment and connected to and partially supported by a top wall assembly of the compartment.
