Packaging System for a Hot Water Heater
A packaging system for a hot water heater includes an outer box, a top insert, an offset filler, a base insert, and one or more side panels. The top insert contacts a top surface of the hot water heater and a top inside surface of outer box. The offset filler is coupled to the top insert and is sandwiched between the hot water heater and the outer box. The base insert contacts the bottom surface of the hot water heater and a bottom inside surface of the outer box. The base insert includes raised perimeter structures that form a shape that matches a shape of the bottom surface of the hot water heater. The raised perimeter structures and the offset filler position the hot water heater off-center with respect to a center axis of the outer box. Each side panel includes a raised pattern.
PACKAGING ASSEMBLY FOR AN APPLIANCE
A packaging assembly (10) for an appliance (14) includes a first shock-absorbing member (18) that defines a cavity (22) to receive a top (26) of the appliance (14) and a second shock-absorbing member (42). The first shock-absorbing member (18) defines a first groove (30) and a second groove (34). Each of the first groove (30) and second groove (34) is defined in a top surface (38) of the first shock-absorbing member (18) and extends along a length thereof. The second shock-absorbing member (42) defines a recess (46) to receive a bottom (50) of the appliance (14). The first shock-absorbing member (18) and the second shock-absorbing member (42) are configured to retain the appliance (14). A first support feature (54) is disposed within the first groove (30) of the first shock-absorbing member (18). A second support feature (58) is disposed within the second groove (34) of the first shock-absorbing member (18). Each of the first support feature (54) and the second support feature (58) is constructed of a wood plastic composite.
Appliance containment device
An appliance containment device may include a shell having a shell floor and a shell wall, and a cover having a cover floor and a cover wall. The cover wall and shell wall may be coupled together. A first mat may be coupled to the cover floor. A container cavity for receiving portions of an appliance may be formed above the cover floor and shell floor, and the cavity may be bounded horizontally by the shell wall and cover wall. Lower portions of an appliance may be positioned in the container cavity. Optionally, the device may include an encasement which may be positioned around the upper portions of the appliance with lower portions of the encasement extending into the container cavity, thereby allowing the device to encase the appliance within the shell, cover, and encasement.
PACKAGING INSERTS
A packaging insert comprising a combination of corrugated cardboard and honeycomb paperboard, and packaging assemblies and methods of packaging an item utilizing one or more such packaging insert(s), as shown and described.

APPLIANCE CONTAINMENT DEVICE
An appliance containment device is provided which is able to enclose portions of an appliance, such as a water heater, or other object to contain dirt, water, and other contaminants that the appliance may release. In some embodiments, the device may include an encasement having a first end and a second end. The first end may be open and the second end may be coupled to a base. A cavity may be disposed in the encasement and may extend between the first end and the base. The device may include a mat. Optionally, a mat may be coupled to the base outside of the cavity and/or optionally a mat may be coupled to bottom portions of an appliance, and the mat may be positioned inside the cavity with the appliance so that portions of the mat may contact portions of the base.
Utility bag for handling and maneuvering bulky equipment in a confined space
A containment system for enclosing and moving heavy equipment, such as air conditioning or water heater components is disclosed. The containment system includes a bag component and a plurality of handles and/or straps. The handles and/or straps are arranged so that workers can easily maneuver heavy equipment into and out of confined spaces, such as an attic. The containment system also prevents damage to structures, such as the interior of a house while moving such heavy equipment.
