APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CUTTING CLOSURES FOR CONTAINERS
A cutting method and apparatus for closures of the “tethered” type are disclosed, in which a spindle that carries a closure is moved to a cutting device with one or more horizontal blades and at least one vertical or oblique blade. During cutting, the spindle rotates and the closure rolls on the cutting device. The spindle, which is fed several times to the cutting device carrying each time a different closure, comprises a portion made of a softer material than the blades so that during cutting the blades penetrate the material of the closure and then sink into the softer portion of the spindle. Feeding the spindle that carries the closure to the cutting device is coordinated with rotation of the spindle so that the vertical or oblique blade, each time that the spindle is fed to the cutting device, always meets the same zone of the softer portion of the spindle.
Recyclable container closure having informational and/or anti-counterfeiting capabilities
A “smart” closure system, apparatus, and method are described. The closure includes mechanical solution, used in conjunction with wireless technologies and/or web-based or remote authentication, verification, and serialization via a mobile computing device, to provide information about the closure and the contents concealed within that closure. Further, the construction of the closure allows for any and all non-recyclable components of the wireless technologies to be removed so as to enable the closure to be recycled and/or converted to post consumer resin.
Strip for securing a stopper to a transport ring of a bottle
The present invention discloses a tethered stopper affixed to a bottle neck finish. The stopper includes a closure shell, a tamper band, and a strip connecting the closure shell to the tamper band at the perimeter of both the closure shell and the tamper band. The bottle neck finish includes a transport ring having a retaining feature configured to receive and retain the strip of the stopper when the closure shell is removed from the bottle neck finish. Also discloses is a method for securing the tethered stopper within the tamper band.
Tethered Plastic Screw Stopper and Method for Making Thereof
The present disclosure relates to a tethered plastic screw stopper for closing a bottle. The stopper comprises a tamper band, a closure shell, and an annular strip positioned between and connected to the tamper band and the closure shell. The tamper band comprises a first bottom hinge connected to the annular strip, and the closure shell comprises a second top hinge connected to the annular strip and diametrically opposite the first bottom hinge. A bottom weakness line is positioned between the tamper band and the annular strip proximate to the bottom hinge, and a top weakness line is positioned between the annular strip and the closure shell proximate to the top hinge. Also disclosed is a method for making the tethered plastic screw stopper.
CLOSURE DEVICE FOR CONTAINER
A closure device for a container that defines a neck and an annular flange. The closure device comprises a cap body, a tamper evidence (TE) band positioned below the annular flange, a tongue that extends from the cap body towards the tamper evidence band and first and second leashes positioned on either side of the tongue. The first and second leashes connect the cap body to the tamper evidence (TE) band, and allow the cap body to be removed from the neck of the container while remaining attached to the tamper evidence (TE) band. When the cap body is actuated to a fully open position the first and second leashes act as a torsion spring for causing the tongue to exert a force against the neck of the container for retaining the cap body in the fully open position.
A CLOSING CAP FOR A CONTAINER
A closing cap for a container includes a separating line on a lateral wall forming a retaining ring, configured to remain anchored to a neck of the container and extending up to a free edge. A closing element is engageable with the neck, to open or close the container. The separating line is circumferentially interrupted to define in the lateral wall a joining zone, extending at a first angle, in which the retaining ring and the closing element are joined. An engagement element of the retaining ring is bent when the cap is closed. First and second incision lines allow deformability of a connecting portion and a region of the engagement element extending at a second angle, so that when first opening the closing element, the region goes beyond the locking ring and deforms to rest on the locking ring in an extended configuration.
Ergonomic Bottle Cap
The invention is an ergonomic bottle cap having a U-shaped support extending along opposite sides and across the top. The U-shaped support having a top fin across the top wall of the cap and two opposing side tabs extending from the top fin along the annular side wall of the cap. The side tabs integrally molded with the top fin and the cap.
Two-piece drop dispensing closure
A two-piece dispensing closure for dispensing essential oils includes an insert received into a container opening and a closure body including a dispensing spout and a hinged cap. The cap is connected to the closure body by a living hinge to allow the user to selectively open and close the container. A tamper-evident tear strip is integrally formed with the closure body. The insert and the closure body including mating helical ramps which cooperate to insure that the insert remains installed within the container neck when the closure body is removed after purchase.
CLOSURE WITH HINGED TAMPER BAND
A container assembly including a pouch, spout and closure is provided. The closure includes a tamper-evident band comprising two or more wall sections. Adjacent wall sections of the tamper band may be connected to one another with frangible connectors configured to break upon twist-off of the closure from the spout. The closure also includes one or more support walls supported between an outer wall and central wall of the closure. The closure further includes one or more hinges attaching the ends of the wall sections of the tamper band to the lower ends of the support walls. The hinges are configured to increase the resistance required to break or otherwise distort the frangible connections of the tamper-evident band, so as to prevent or lower the risk of accidental or inadvertent breakage of the tamper-evident band prior to twist-off of the closure from the spout.
