The tamper evident container includes a base with a base hinge panel and a lid with a lid hinge panel. A hinge connects the panels. A frangible line extends from an edge of the lid hinge panel to a first point on the panel and then outwardly to the hinge. The frangible line crosses the hinge and extends inwardly to a second point on the base hinge panel. From the second point the frangible line extends to an edge of the base hinge panel. When the container is initially sealed, the frangible line separates upon the application of an upwardly directed force to a first portion of the lid hinge panel while a second portion of the lid hinge panel is held in a fixed position or moved downwardly. The separation of the frangible line creates two grasping portions that can be used to pull the lid from the base.

A tamper evident container includes a base with a base rim adjoining a base hinge panel and a lid with a lid rim adjoining a lid hinge panel. A hinge connects the panels. A frangible line extends from an edge of the lid hinge panel to a first point on the panel and then outwardly to the hinge. The frangible line crosses the hinge and extends inwardly to a second point on the base hinge panel. From the second point the frangible line extends to an edge of the base hinge panel. A container includes a base and a lid sealingly engageable with the base. The base includes a base hinge panel and the lid includes a lid hinge panel. The base hinge panel and the lid hinge panel are hingedly connected along a hinge line to form a foldable section. The foldable section has a first side edge, a second side edge, and a frangible line that extends between the first side edge and the second side edge. In extending between the first side edge and the second side edge, the frangible line extends across each of a portion of the base hinge panel, the hinge line, and a portion of the lid hinge panel.

A destructive packaging container is disclosed herein. It comprises a case body having a recessed groove around an opening at a top thereof, a case lid having a protrusion around a periphery thereof for engaging with the recessed groove, wherein an outer edge of one end of the recessed groove and an outer edge of one end of the protrusion are respectively extended with at least one force-applied ear staggered from each other; two connecting strips disposed at two sides of the at least one force-applied ear at the one end of the recessed groove for connecting the outer edge of the one end of the protrusion; and two cutting lines disposed at a junction of the two connecting strips and the case lid.

The current invention provides a container, a lid, a combination of the two, and a method of using the same. The container has a base and a sidewall extending upward from the base forming a continuous sidewall around the base. The upper portion of the sidewall has a rim and a skirt around the perimeter. The skirt has a removable tear tab to allow access to a lid for removing the lid from the container. The lid also has vents for air to exit the container, thereby preventing rising of the lid in low pressure areas. The vents further prevent entry of air into the container when the sealed container is taken to areas of higher pressure. A method of filling the container leaving an air gap between the product and the lid and utilizing the aforementioned vents is also provided.

In an untampered with state, one edge of the lid is removably connected to one edge of the base portion.
