An actuating mechanism is configured to translate the storage portion relative to the base dispenser portion. The products are restricted from being dispensed to the receptacle when the storage portion is in a first operating position, and the products are dispensable to the receptacle when the storage portion is in a second operating position.

Aspects of the present invention are directed to a metered dose container. The container may comprise a body; a first barrier in contact with a base of the container and extending partially along the vertical axis of the body; a second barrier in contact with a top of the container and extending partially along with vertical axis of the body.
