A container for produce, and specifically for fruits such as apples that provides a secure and well ventilated shipping enclosure, allowing the purchaser to visually inspect the contents, while preventing the enclosed produce from being removed or dropping out of the container. The container is preferably constructed from bio-degradeable materials such as a kraft paper or cardboard, and includes a bottom tray into which the produce is placed. A top tray is placed over the produce contained in the bottom tray, with trays including pairs of “corner-holes” near the four corners of both trays, each pair connected by corner slots. An elastic band is then placed around both the top tray and the bottom tray, received into each set of corner holes and held within each corner slot. Preferably two elastic band are used, one located proximate to each end of the container.

The receiving portion has a first opposing surface facing the lid portion and a concave portion provided on the first opposing surface. The concave portion is covered by a first flexible film. The effective region of the deposition mask is arranged on the concave portion with the first flexible film interposed therebetween.

A method for unpacking a bundle of tubular and/or rod-shaped glass articles has the steps of holding the bundle in a locked position and pulling a thread-like element that is wrapped around the glass articles so that the thread-like element is withdrawn from the bundle. The bundle includes a longest dimension, layers (N.sub.L) of the glass articles, and the thread-like element. The longest dimension extends in a first direction. The glass articles in each layer are arranged side by side in a second direction. The layers are arranged side by side in a third direction. The first, second, and third directions are perpendicular to one another. The thread-like element is around two of the glass articles in at least one layer so that the two glass articles are spaced apart. The thread-like element has a cross section between at least 0.25 mm and at most 4.0 mm.

A food carrying system comprises a plurality of food service items including at least one container and optionally one or more plates, drink carriers, and/or trays. At least one of the food service items includes opposing strap openings formed in an edge, encircling flange, or opposed flange handles thereof. A support band encircles the stack, passing through the strap openings, and ends thereof are affixed together to stabilize the stack and in embodiments providing a hand-hold for carrying the stack. The band can further extend through a strap opening provided in a separate handle, so that the stack can be carried using the handle. Strap openings can be provided on lids and/or bases of the containers. Strap openings can be closed ovals, or can be C-shaped, having open outer edges. Band ends can be joined by adhesive, hook-and-loop, knot tying, stapling, snaps, buttons, etc.
