A blister pack may include a containing body with an opening; and a lid sealed over the opening and provided with a weakening pattern, wherein a width of the lid at the weakening pattern is thinner that a width of the lid elsewhere, and wherein the lid is configured to burst at the weakening pattern when the blister pack is subjected to pressure, so as to allow liquid content inside the containing body to be discharged out of the blister pack through the burst weakening pattern. A blister pack holder is also disclosed.

In one exemplary embodiment, a packaging system is provided and includes a base configured to receive a drug delivery device having a device body having an upper segment and a lower segment, and an actuator. The base is configured to house the received drug delivery device therein at a non-zero angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the base. The base includes a retaining cavity and a gripping cavity adjacent the retaining cavity. The retaining cavity is configured to create an interference fit with at least a portion of an upper segment of a drug delivery device received within the base, and the gripping cavity is configured to receive a lower segment of a device body and a portion of an actuator of a drug delivery device received within the base.

A contact lens package includes a base including an upper surface and a receptacle having a volume. The contact lens package also includes a flexible cover including an interior surface that is coupled to the upper surface of the base. A stiff dome is attached to an interior surface of the cover and the stiff dome displaces an amount of volume from the volume of the receptacle. The contact lens package may also include a lens having an anterior surface and a posterior surface disposed in the receptacle with the posterior surface of the lens disposed adjacent to the stiff dome. By peeling the flexible cover away from the base, the lens remains mounted on the stiff dome causing the anterior surface of the lens to be presented to a user.

The package is opened to expose a portion of the urinary catheter and an opened portion of the package is held by a package material holder so the catheter can be pulled by the exposed portion from the opened package without contaminating the catheter.

Break-open single-dose packages

A break-open single-dose package includes a panel defining a frangible region, one or more sheets coupled to the panel and defining a pocket therebetween for storing a spreadable consumable, and an applicator. The frangible region is adapted to form an opening through which the spreadable consumable can exit in response to folding of the panel. The applicator includes a backing and a vessel extending from the backing. The vessel defines a channel for receiving any spreadable consumable that exits the pocket. The applicator is positioned adjacent to the frangible region for permitting a user to spread on a surface any spreadable consumable that exits the pocket using the applicator without requiring the user's hand(s) to contact the spreadable consumable. The backing is configured to move with the panel and separate from the vessel in response to folding of the panel. Other example packages and/or applicators are also disclosed.

Dispenser actuator assembly

A dispenser actuator assembly (100) for actuating a dispenser (10) is disclosed. The dispenser (10) is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly (10) having a rupturable glass ampoule (12) containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule (12) is contained within an outer container (14) wherein the outer container (14) has a first open end (22) and a second closed end (24). The glass ampoule assembly (10) has an applicator (16) positioned in the first open end (22). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) has a base member (102) configured to mount on the outer container (14). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) also has an actuator assembly (104) operably connected to the base member (102) wherein the actuator assembly (104) has a first actuator arm (132a) and a second actuator arm (132b) each pivotally connected to the base member (102). The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) extend from the base member (102) in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm (132a) has a first protrusion (150a) depending therefrom and the second actuator arm (132b) has a second protrusion (150b) depending therefrom. The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion (150a) engages the outer container (14) and the second protrusion (150b) engages the outer container (14) to crush the glass ampoule (12) wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly (10).
