Egg Carton with Separate Base and Lid Configurations and Moisture Venting
A rectangular perimeter egg carton comprising: a lid, and a base separate from the lid, wherein the lid and base are assembled together to from a closed egg carton, the base having a top wall and a rectangular array of recessed base cells arranged in rows and columns depending from the top wall, each base cell having an open top end, a sidewall and a closed bottom wall and being sized and shaped to hold one egg in a generally upright position with the long axis of the egg disposed in a vertical direction transverse to a base reference plane in which the bottom walls of the base cells reside; the base and lid having respective mating rectangular perimeter edges, including opposing front and rear side edges and opposing left and right side edges, that mate with each other in a closed position to from the rectangular perimeter egg carton for enclosing an egg in each of the respective cells; and a plurality of spaced apart venting ports formed in each of the perimeter side edges of one or more of the base and lid perimeters for releasing moisture from the closed egg carton.
EGG PACKAGING
An egg packaging includes a body defining a cavity for receiving an egg, where the cavity has a base and an open end. The cavity defines a longitudinal axis extending in a direction between the base and the open end, wherein the longitudinal axis is intended to be vertical when in use. The packaging includes one or more laterally resilient portions arranged to provide support against lateral movement of an egg in the cavity relative to the longitudinal axis and/or one or more longitudinally resilient portions arranged to provide support against longitudinal movement of an egg in the cavity relative to the longitudinal axis.
Egg Storage Assembly
An egg storage assembly includes a box that has a plurality of recesses each extending downwardly therein. Each of the recesses has a parabolic shape to receive and thusly conform to the narrow end of an egg. A lid is hingedly coupled to the box and the lid has a plurality of cups thereon. Each of the cups extends upwardly from the lid and each of the cups is aligned with a respective one of the recesses when the lid is closed such that each of the cups forms an enclosure with the respective recesses. Each of the cups is concavely arcuate wherein to receive and thusly conform to the wide end of the egg when the lid is closed. The wide end of the egg is exposed when the lid is opened thereby enhancing gripping the egg.
