Mobile and cascadable storage silo
11535447 · 2022-12-27 ·

A storage silo for storing granular material has a container supported by a base, the container having a roof and at least one side wall for defining a storage space beneath the roof. The storage silo includes: (a) a feed port for receiving the granular material at a feed-port height lower than the roof; (b) an auger for moving the granular material toward the roof within the storage space, the auger receiving the granular material via the feed port; and (c) first and second auger motors for cooperatively driving the auger, the first and second auger motors being disposed at opposing ends of the auger. A processor determines power levels for the first and second auger motors to minimize torsional strain on the auger. Granular material can be discharged from a first storage silo into a second storage silo positioned for cascading with the first storage silo.

Mobile collapsible storage silo

A collapsible storage silo having an expanded configuration includes: (a) a shell for circumscribing storage space and comprising a plurality of concentrically nested tubular members that are collapsible; (b) a lift system operable to slidably expand the plurality of concentrically nested tubular members to place the silo in its expanded configuration; and (c) a mast operable to support the lift system, The mast is pivotable between horizontal and vertical positions relative to a frame. A winch attaches to the mast and a cable extends between the winch and an outermost tubular member to expand the silo such that inwardly and outwardly projecting lips of nested members engage each other and a conical hopper engages an innermost tubular member. A flexible inner liner attaches between an outermost tubular member and the hopper. A collapsible roof has a flexible roof membrane and a plurality of radially extending foldable rib members.

SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE SUPPLY OF WATER TO A ROOFTOP WATER TANK

A system includes first and second sensors, and a controller. The first and second sensors are operable to attach to a water tank that supplies a building with water. The first sensor is configured to determine that a water level in the tank has fallen below a first level. The second sensor is configured to determine that the water level has risen to at least a second level. The controller includes a processor that is communicatively coupled to the sensors. The processor receives, from the first sensor, an indication that the water level has fallen below the first level. In response, the processor generates a signal to activate a pump that delivers water to the tank. The processor additionally receives, from the second sensor, an indication that the water level has risen to at least the second level. In response, the processor generates a signal to deactivate the pump.

Equipment (1) for storing a liquid (L) includes a storage tank (2) having a bottom (4) from which a cylindrical wall (6) closed by a ceiling (5) rises, the tank being provided with washing nozzles (10) and with at least one liquid supply inlet (8) and at least one liquid outlet (9); a cover (3) mounted inside the tank and arranged to float on the liquid present in the tank; the cover (3) being mounted in the tank to delimit with the cylindrical wall, a communication space (11) on either side of the cover, configured to allow the vertical displacement of the cover when the level of the liquid changes in the tank and in that the equipment includes a system (12) for bearing the cover on the bottom of the tank keeping the lower face (3a) of the cover at a distance from the bottom of the tank.

Bottom loading valves, tank management systems incorporating the same, and methods for managing tanks

According to the embodiments described herein, a bottom loading valve can include a drive member, a valve body, and a piston. The drive member can be operably coupled to a motor. The valve body can define a fluid passageway and one or more lateral openings. The drive member can be positioned within the fluid passageway. The one or more lateral openings can be offset laterally from the drive member. The piston can be engaged with the drive member. The piston can move throughout an open position and a closed position, as the drive member communicates force from the motor. When the piston is in the closed position, the piston can fully obstruct the one or more lateral openings from the fluid passageway.
