Robotic system for processing packages arriving out of sequence
11591168 · 2023-02-28 · ·

A robotic system for arranging packages at a destination according to a stacking sequence. The robotic system uses a storage area for temporarily storing packages that arrive out-of-sequence until they are next-in-sequence for placement at the destination. The robotic system processes an incoming package, determines if it is next-in-sequence for placement at the destination, and if it is, places the package at the destination. On the other hand, if it is not next-in-sequence for placement at the destination, it stores the package in the storage area. A package in the storage area is transferred to the destination when it is next-in-sequence for placement at the destination. By using the temporary storage for storing out of sequence packages, the robotic system eliminates the need for receiving the packages in a stacking sequence, which also eliminates the need for sequencing machines.

Relay-type goods picking system and method

Provided is a relay goods picking system, the system includes: a plurality of carrying robots, a manual picking area, auxiliary pickup tools for manual goods picking which store goods for manual picking, a robot picking inventory container area provided with a plurality of inventory containers used for storing goods and being carried by the plurality of carrying robots, operating positions and a control system capable of communicating with the plurality of carrying robots and manual picking persons. For a mixed order which involves both goods in the manual picking area and goods in the robot picking rack area, under control of the control system, a person-to-goods picking mode and a goods-to-person picking mode are used to complete the goods picking.

Embodiments of present disclosure relate to a receiving station, an automatic guided vehicle (AGV), a pallet for use therewith, a conveying system, and a method for conveyance control. The receiving station comprises a carriage adapted to hook a pallet. The receiving station further comprises linear drive equipment operable to move the carriage in a first direction away from an AGV to load the pallet from the AGV or move the carriage in a second direction opposite to the first direction towards the AGV to unload the pallet onto the AGV, wherein the AGV stops near the receiving station, and wherein the carriage hooks the pallet during the movement of the carriage such that the pallet is moved along with the carriage.

MULTI-ZONE AUTOMATED STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

A multi-zone automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) and a method for controlling operation of robotic storage/retrieval vehicles (RSRVs) therein are provided. The multi-zone ASRS includes first and second storage zones isolated by at least one barrier and including first and second groups of storage locations respectively for accommodating storage units therein. The multi-zone ASRS includes one or more portals opening through the barrier(s) between the storage zones, and at least one track layout. The track layout(s) includes first and second track areas occupying the first and second storage zones respectively, and one or more connective track segments interconnecting the first and second track areas through the portal(s). The RSRVs deposit and retrieve the storage units to and from the storage locations and travel on the first and second track areas via the connective track segment(s) to respectively access the first and second groups of storage locations therefrom.
