AUTOMATIC LAPLESS BUTT MATERIAL SPLICE
Devices, methods, and systems for splicing a trailing edge of an outgoing roll with a leading edge of a replacement roll with a lapless butt splice on-the-fly during converting and printing production. A first strip of adhesive tape may be placed partially under the leading edge, such that a portion of the adhesive tape remains exposed beyond the leading edge. The replacement roll may be accelerated to match the speed of the outgoing web's movement, a trailing edge of the outgoing web may be cut free from the outgoing roll, and the trailing edge of the outgoing roll may be positioned over the exposed portion of the adhesive tape. A second strip of adhesive tape may be applied over the leading edge and trailing edge using a splicer roller timed to apply the tape when the edges pass proximate to the splicer roller.
METHOD FOR PACKAGING PRODUCTS AND PACKAGING INSTALLATION
In a method for packaging products, the products are packaged with a packaging material on a packaging line. The packaging material is first of all drawn off a first packaging-material reel and fed to the packaging line. When the first packaging-material reel has been at least partially used up, an initial portion of a second packaging-material reel is made to overlap with a packaging-material portion already drawn off the first packaging-material reel and is joined to the latter packaging-material portion. After the two packaging-material portions have been joined together, the packaging material is drawn off from the second packaging-material reel and fed to the packaging line. The two above-mentioned packaging-material portions are joined together by a stamping operator of a stamping device. There is also described a packaging installation for carrying out the method.
SPLICING DEVICE FOR WEB MATERIALS, UNWINDER INCLUDING THE SPLICING DEVICE, AND OPERATING METHOD
The splicing device for splicing a trailing edge of a first web material to a leading edge of a second web material includes members defining a feed path of the web material. The device also includes a first cutting member and a second cutting member, cooperating with the first cutting member. One of the two cutting members is provided with a movement transverse to the feed path of the web material, to move the cutting member from an operating position, in which it is in front of the other cutting member, to an idle position, withdrawn with respect to the feed path of the web material.
DEVICE FOR REPLACING A REEL IN AN UNWINDER AND RELATED METHOD
The unwinder includes an unwinding station, in which to arrange a reel to be unwound. In the unwinding station there is arranged a series of guide rollers, defining a feed path of the web material. There are also provided: a cutting member adapted to cut a web material coming from an exhausted reel, and splicing members, to splice a trailing edge of a first web material coming from an exhausted reel to a leading edge of a second web material coming from a new reel. A pick-up device is configured to pick up the leading edge of the second web material from a temporary retaining element, carried by a transfer unit to transfer reels to the unwinding station.

A second strip of adhesive tape may be applied over the leading edge and trailing edge using a splicer roller timed to apply the tape when the edges pass proximate to the splicer roller.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING TAPES, TAPE CONNECTING DEVICE, PROCESSING SYSTEM AND USE
The method relates to tape connecting device (1) and a method for connecting a first tape to a second tape for providing a tape string. In the tape connecting device (1) when continuously conveying the first tape an end section of the first tape is connected to a start section of the second tape by an adhesive connection by a liquid (in particular water) arranged in a connecting section. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for connecting two tapes, a processing system and a use of a method.
The inventive tape connecting device (1) and the method can in particular be used for a continuous provision of a security tape for a security document as a banknote.

AUTOMATIC REPLACEMENT DEVICE OF SECONDARY BATTERY MATERIAL
An automatic replacement device of a secondary battery material including reel support parts to support a supply reel; a material support part spaced apart from the reel support part; clamping parts, each including a clamping roller to come into contact with the material when replacing the supply reel, a vacuum suction part to suction the material by vacuum, a clamping frame to rotatably support the clamping roller and the vacuum suction part, and a cutter to cut the material when coming into contact with the material; first drive parts to move the clamping roller toward/away from the material; and second drive parts to move the cutter toward/away from the material, wherein the automatic replacement device cuts the material as the material is suctioned to the vacuum suction part after being adhered to a material wound around a replacement supply reel when the supply reel is replaced.
UNWINDER OF THIN PLY PRODUCT WOUND ON A ROLL, WITH FACILITATED EXTRACTION OF THE ROLL
Unwinder of a thin ply product wound on a roll, comprising a first roll-holder assembly equipped with a first unwinding rod for a respective roll, on which the roll is adapted to be supported, and which has an axis of rotation transversal to the direction of movement of the ply unwound from the roll, a second roll-holder assembly equipped with a second unwinding rod of a respective roll, on which the roll is adapted to be supported, said second rod being parallel to said first unwinding rod of the first roll-holder assembly, said second roll-holder assembly facing said first roll-holder assembly in an unwinding zone, a ply splicing assembly placed above said first and second facing roll-holder assemblies, a ply accumulation unit to allow automatic switching between a roll being unwound in one said roll-holder assembly and a spare roll provided in the other roll-holder assembly, a system for the lateral movement of each of said unwinding rods with respect to said unwinding zone, from said unwinding zone to a loading zone wherein said rolls are outside said winding zone to facilitate loading the rolls into the respective roll-holder assemblies, wherein said splicing assembly can be moved from a working position above the two said roll-holder assemblies in said unwinding zone, to a working position above an extracted roll assembly in the loading zone, to allow preparation for splicing of the leading edge of the ply wound on the spare roll.
