APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SPLITING A TOW OF CARBON FIBER FILAMENTS
An apparatus and method for splitting a high filament count carbon fiber tow into a set of tows with reduced filament counts. The apparatus is comprised of an electrolyte bath assembly and a splitting assembly comprised of at least one blade. The preferred embodiment of the blades being Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The splitting assembly being positioned within the electrolyte bath or adjacent to the exit of the electrolyte bath.
Method and apparatus for the production of garments
A garment production system, comprising a virtual development environment configured to receive and store in a database thereof body information relating to a user, establish measurements for the user based on the body information, display, on a display device connected to the virtual development environment, a virtual representation of the user using the established measurements, customize one or more garments for the user based on the established measurements, display, on the display device, a virtual representation of the one or more customized garments on the virtual representation of the user, receive and store in the database personalization information from the user regarding the one or more customized garments, and alter the one or more customized garments and the virtual representation thereof based on the received personalization information for manufacture thereof.
Separation unit and a dispenser comprising a separation unit
A separation unit is provided for separating a web material having a web width along preformed lines of weakness. The separation unit includes at least a first shaft extending along a first longitudinal axis and at least a second shaft extending along a second longitudinal axis in parallel with the first shaft. The separation unit also includes at least one first protrusion element extending perpendicularly from the first shaft and being arranged to be rotatable about the first longitudinal axis, and at least one second protrusion element extending perpendicularly from the second shaft and being arranged to be rotatable about the second longitudinal axis. The separation unit further includes at least one contact element being arranged in biased abutment against at least one of the first and second protrusion elements in a direction perpendicular to the first or second longitudinal axis.
Stretch Wrap Dispenser With Cutting and Gathering Mechanisms
A stretch wrap applicator includes one or more cutting members arranged to engage the stretch wrap to cut it into strips as it is dispensed from the roll. The strips are then gathered and stretched into strings that are wrapped around the object. A roller is biased toward the stretch wrap roll to ensure an even flow of stretch film from the roll and more consistent tension on the film dispensed from the roll. The roller includes a groove. A cutting member is disposed to rest in the groove such that stretch film passes over and around the roller as it is dispensed from the roll and then engages the cutting member in the grove before the stretch film separates from the roller.
MULTI-DIVISION TYPE TAPE CUTTER
A multi-division type tape cutter is disclosed. A multi-division type tape cutter according to the present invention includes: a rotating member which has a cylindrical shape and includes a fastening protrusion provided on one side surface thereof and a plurality of rotating wings provided along the outer cylindrical circumferential surface thereof, each of the rotating wings having a ¬-shaped end; a tape roller into which a tape is fitted; a housing forming a body, wherein the rotating member and the tape roller are fixed to the inside of the housing, a first cutter unit located between the rotating member and the tape roller and provided in a direction orthogonal to a winding direction of the tape; and a second cutter unit provided inside the housing in a direction orthogonal to the winding direction of the tape.
SEPARATION UNIT AND A DISPENSER COMPRISING A SEPARATION UNIT
A separating unit for separating a web material includes a first shaft extending along a first longitudinal axis in the width direction and a second shaft extending along a second longitudinal axis, parallel to the first shaft. The second longitudinal axis is separated from the first longitudinal axis in a direction perpendicular to the width direction. A first protrusion element extends perpendicularly from the first shaft and is rotatable about the first longitudinal axis and a second protrusion element extends perpendicularly from the second shaft and is rotatable about the second longitudinal axis. In a use position, the first protrusion element partially overlaps the second protrusion element with a radial overlap oriented perpendicular to the first and second shafts. A contact element is biased against at least one of the first and second protrusion elements in a direction perpendicular to the first or second longitudinal axis.
Vacuum-coating system, and method for coating a strip-type material
A method and a vacuum-coating system (10) for coating a strip-shaped material (11), in particular made of metal, are disclosed. Thereby, the strip-shaped material (11) is moved over a conveying section (12) in a transport direction (T) and vacuum-coated within a coating chamber (14) in which a vacuum is applied. When viewed in the transport direction (T) of the strip-shaped material (11), at least one trimming shear (38) is arranged upstream of the coating chamber (14), with which the strip-shaped material (11) is trimmed at at least one strip edge, preferably at both strip edges, in order to produce a constant width for the strip-shaped material (11) over its longitudinal extension.
Apparatus for automatically cutting and discharging a web of material, and associated method
The present invention relates to a device (1) for automatically cutting a material web (2) with a longitudinal cutting device (60) using a material web (2) in a longitudinal direction (L) separable in at least a partial web (3) and/or at least a remaining web (4), a discharging device (10) for automatically discharging the produced remaining web (4), a transverse cutting device (70) downstream of a longitudinal cutting device (60) for cutting the remaining web (4) transversely to the longitudinal direction (L).
