A device for automatic touch-free dispensing of disposable material onto a hand of an individual is provided. The device comprises a first spool configured to hold backing members having disposable material disposed thereon. The first spool engages with a first gear connected to a motor responsible for rotating the first spool to deliver the disposable material into the middle of an access window of the device. Preferably, the device is enclosed within a housing assembly.
IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, DOCUMENT FEEDER, AND METHOD OF DETERMINING SHEET SIZE
An image forming device includes a tray on which a sheet is to be placed and including a plurality of first electrodes arranged along a first direction, a sheet guide including a conductor and movable along the first direction to different positions relative to the first electrodes, a detection circuit electrically connected to each of the first electrodes and configured to detect an amount of electric charge in each of the first electrodes, a printer configured to form an image on the sheet supplied from the tray, and a processor configured to determine a size of the sheet placed on the tray based on amounts of electric charge detected by the detection circuit, and control the printer to form an image on the sheet using the determined size.
Medium transport device, image reading apparatus, and static electricity detection circuit detecting the static electricity of a sheet with an electrode, send the signal supplied from the electrode to a voltage clamp circuit, amplifier circuit and rectifier circuit in order to detect a medium
A medium transport device includes a transport section transporting a medium in a contact manner, an electrode detecting static electricity charged on the medium, and a static electricity detection circuit. The static electricity detection circuit includes a voltage clamp circuit clamping a detection signal input from the electrode to a predetermined voltage, an amplifier circuit amplifying an output signal of the voltage clamp circuit, a rectifier circuit rectifying an output signal of the amplifier circuit, and a comparator circuit serving as a determination circuit determining whether the medium exists based on an output signal of the rectifier circuit.
CARTRIDGES, DISPENSERS, AND KITS FOR DISPENSING INSTRUMENT COVERS
A kit for dispensing disposable stethoscope covers and other instrument covers is provided. The kit may include a cartridge and a dispenser for automatic touch-free dispensing of disposable stethoscope covers. The kit further includes a first spool having a roll of backing member with disposable stethoscope covers disposed thereon and a second spool for receiving the spent backing member after a disposable stethoscope cover has been removed, self-contained within the cartridge. The cartridge is inserted within the dispenser so that a user may insert a stethoscope head through a window of the dispenser to attach to a disposable stethoscope cover. Alternatively, the cartridge or cassette may be comprised of disposable instrument covers so that a user may insert the instrument near or through the window of the dispenser for application of the instrument cover directly to the instrument. The kit may further include a proximity sensor for detecting a user.
SENSOR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A FILLING STATUS OF DISPENSER FOR A CONSUMABLE
A sensor device is provided to detect a filling status of a consumable in a dispenser, the consumable being web material, and the filling status relating to a spatial extension of the consumable in the dispenser. The sensor device includes a capacitive sensor having an elongated and planar sensor area; and a first measurement section configured to measure the filling status of the dispenser. The capacitive sensor includes a first channel and a second channel. The first measurement section is configured to measure the filling status of the dispenser based on changes in capacitance detected by the first channel and the second channel.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a main body, a sheet cassette attachable to the main body and configured to support one or more sheets to be supplied to the image forming unit, and a controller. The main body includes an electrode movable relative to the main body, a capacitance detector configured to output a signal indicating a value corresponding to a quantity of electricity stored in the electrode, and a wire. The sheet cassette includes a metal member, and a sheet supporting plate made of metal, movable relative to the sheet cassette in an up-down direction, and configured to support one or more sheets from below. The controller is configured to determine whether the sheet cassette is at an installation position in the main body from a level of the value of the signal outputted from the capacitance detector connected to the electrode via the wire.
