Medium feeding device
A medium feeding device is provided with a feeding section for feeding a medium and sensors for detecting the medium. The feeding section includes a feed roller and a separation roller, the sensors form a sensor line in which the plurality of sensors is aligned in a feeding direction of the medium to be fed, the two sensor lines are arranged in such a manner that the sensors overlap with each other in a width direction of the medium to be fed, and the sensor lines are so configured as to extend, in the feeding direction, from an upstream region upstream of a nip point where the feed roller and the separation roller make contact with each other, a nip region including the nip point, and to a downstream region downstream of the nip point.
SKEW DETECTION
According to some examples, a skew detection device comprises a first roller rotatable around a first axis, a second roller rotatable around a second axis, a first sensor, and a second sensor. The first sensor measures a first rotation parameter from the first roller and the second sensor measures a second rotation parameter from the second roller. A movement of a print media over the device rotates the first contact roller and the second roller, and a controller determines a skew of the print media based on the first and second rotation parameters captured by the first sensor and the second sensor.

A feeder of a sheet treating or a sheet processing machine comprises a sensor system, which sensor system, on a front side pointing in a direction of transport of the sheets to be fed or on the opposing, rear side of the pile of sheets to be fed, comprises one or more sensors, by the use of which sensors, a distance, with respect to at least two locations, which are spaced apart from one another transversely to the transport direction, at the relevant front or rear sides of the pile, can be ascertained. A method is provided for detecting or correcting sheets having deviated positions or dimensions in such a sheet feeder of a sheet treating or processing machine.
FEEDING DEVICE THAT CALCULATES RIGIDITY OF SHEET ACCORDING TO CURVATURE INFORMATION OUTPUTTED BY SHEET SENSOR
A feeding device includes a sheet tray, a transport device, a sheet sensor, and a control device. On the sheet tray, a sheet is placed. The transport device transports the sheet placed on the sheet tray. The sheet sensor is located upstream of the transport device in a sheet transport direction, and outputs curvature information indicating a curvature status of the sheet being transported by the transport device. The control device includes a processor, and acts as a measuring device and a calculation device, when the processor executes a control program. The measuring device measures a curvature amount of the sheet, on a basis of the curvature information. The calculation device calculates rigidity of the sheet, on a basis of the curvature amount.
SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS
A sheet processing apparatus comprising: a conveying unit configured to have a roller that conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction; a first detecting device disposed downstream of the conveying unit in the conveyance direction; a second detecting device disposed downstream of the first detecting device in the conveyance direction; a boring unit configured to have a punch that performs boring in the sheet; and a control unit is used. The first detecting device and the second detecting device each detect passage of a leading edge of the sheet being conveyed. The control unit calculates an actual conveyance speed of the sheet on the basis of detection results of the first detecting device and the second detecting device, and controls rotation of the roller, on the basis of the actual conveyance speed, so that the sheet is conveyed at a predetermined target speed.

An image recording apparatus including: a recording unit; an accommodation part configured to accommodate therein a plurality of recording media including first and second recording medium and having a support surface on which the plurality of the recording media is supported; a conveying path; a feeder roller contacting the recording medium in the accommodation part from above; a reversing path; a recording medium detection unit located above the support surface and between the feeder roller and a downstream end of the support surface in the conveying direction; and a controller configured to control the feeder roller so as to feed the second recording medium in a manner that a front end portion of the second recording medium overlaps a rear end portion of the first recording medium, when the recording medium detection unit detects the rear end portion of the first recording medium fed by the feeder roller.

A feed detection unit which detects a document which is fed is provided at a position between a pinching position at which a feed roller and a frictional force application portion pinch the document and an intersecting position at which a tangential line of the feed roller which is closer to a downstream side in a transport direction than the pinching position is perpendicular to a transport path in the transport direction, which is a different position from the feed roller in a width direction which intersects the transport direction.
Conveyor mechanism and a method for adjusting a conveyor mechanism
The present invention provides a conveyor mechanism for conveying sheets. The conveyor mechanism comprises a movable conveyor body, a drive mechanism, and an adjustment system configured to detect and correct skewing of the conveyor body, comprising one or more markers provided on or in the conveyor body, a sensor arrangement for detecting each marker at two or more discrete positions, and a processor to determine the skewing of the conveyor body. The conveyor body and the drive mechanism of the conveyor mechanism are mounted on a movable conveyor frame, and the adjustment system includes a frame shifting device comprising one or one or more actuator for shifting or moving the conveyor frame relative to a fixed framework. The invention also provides a related method of correcting skewing in a conveyor mechanism for conveying sheets along a transport path.

Medium feeding device and medium processing apparatus including the same
A medium feeding device includes a storage unit that stores media in a form of a sheet, a delivery unit that is disposed downstream in a medium delivery direction relative to the media stored in the storage unit and that delivers the media individually, a transfer unit that is disposed above the storage unit and that sticks by suction to each of the media stored in the storage unit and transfers the media to the delivery unit individually, and a fluffing unit that is disposed beside the media stored in the storage unit in a direction intersecting the medium delivery direction. The fluffing unit fluffs an upper-side region of the media in a state of being separated by blowing air toward a side of the media. The medium feeding device further includes plural position detection units that are arranged in a region that is on the delivery unit side relative to a position of a downstream end portion, in the medium delivery direction, of each of the media stored in the storage unit and that does not reach a contact portion where the delivery unit comes into contact with the media. The position detection units are arranged at an interval in a width direction of the media intersecting the medium delivery direction. The position detection units detect a position of the downstream end portion, in the medium delivery direction, of each of the media.
