METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING A POST-PRINT PROCESSING SYSTEM

A method and apparatus for controlling a post-print processing system for producing printed products. The system comprises a plurality of replaceable individual devices which are arranged one after another in a row and/or parallel and are connected to a joint control unit for adapting the system to successively following different production orders. The method includes supplying the joint control unit with information relating to the type and position of the individual devices in the post-print processing system and activating the individual devices based on the information. The information relating to the position of the individual devices is determined in the post-print processing system based on the position of the individual devices in a first data processing network comprising a ring circuit. The individual devices send out a data telegram corresponding to the position of the respective individual devices via a second data processing network to the joint control unit.

A sheet feeder is provided. The sheet feeder includes a roller to feed a sheet, a motor to rotate the roller, and a motor controller to control rotation of the motor by a feedback control. The motor controller detects a condition of the sheet based on a value acquired in the feedback control at the time a load is applied from the sheet to the roller, while performing a stop control to stop the roller at a designated stop position. The stop control is performed after the motor is rotated in a direction opposite to a direction of feed of the sheet.

A diameter of the log, a caliper of the web material, and an amount of tension of the web is determined at a plurality of time points during a time period of the winding cycle. The controller is enabled to generate a signal to change an operating condition of the converting line based upon at least one of a diameter determination at a time point during the wind cycle, a caliper determination at a time point during the wind cycle, a wound web amount determination at a time point during the wind cycle, and a tension determination at a time point during the wind cycle.

IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS

An image recording apparatus having a recorder, a first driving device, a second driving device, a driving-force transmission device, a sensor, a memory, and a controller to conduct a conveying process and a recording process alternately and repetitively, is provided. In the conveying process, on condition that a rotationally driven amount of the first driving device exceeded a target rotation amount, the controller conducts feedback control on the first driving device to rotate reversely. On condition that the first driving device was rotationally driven reversely under the feedback control, the controller stores a maximum value and a stopping value in the memory, determines a correction value, and determines a post-correction rotation amount based on the target rotation amount and an amount corresponding to the correction value, and in the conveying process, the controller drives the first driving device rotationally by the post-correction rotation amount.

The rewinding machine (1) comprises: a winding station (3) with winding members (5, 7) operated by winding motors In (8.1, 8.2); an unwinder (31.1, 31.2) with an unwinding member (35.1, 35.2) operated by at least one unwinding motor (38.1, 38.2); guide roller (43.1, 43.2) along a feed path (P) of the web material (N, N2). There is associated with the guide roller (43.1, 43.2) at least one load sensor (42.1, 42.2), adapted to detect a parameter proportional to the tension of the web material (N; N2) guided around the guide roller (43.1, 43.2). There is also provided a control unit (71) adapted to modulate a difference in speed between the winding members (5, 7) and the unwinding member (35.1, 35.2) as a function of a signal coming from the load sensor (42.1, 42.2).

DOCUMENT SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE CAPABLE OF LIFTING UP AND DOWN DISCHARGE OUTLET

A document sheet conveying device includes a guide portion, a swinging shaft, a sheet member, and a biasing member. The guide portion guides a document sheet to the discharge tray. The swinging shaft is provided at an upstream end of the guide portion in a conveyance direction of the document sheet and swingably supports the guide portion with a width direction of the document sheet as an axis direction. One end of the sheet member is fixed to an upstream end of the discharge tray in the conveyance direction, and the other end is supported by the guide portion. As the guide portion is lifted up, the sheet member is drawn out from a part of the guide portion lower than the discharge outlet. The biasing member biases in a direction in which the sheet member is drawn into the guide portion.

A recording device includes a roll holding unit, a transport mechanism, a recording unit, a rear end detector, a cutting mechanism, and a control unit. The roll holding unit holds a roll in which a long medium is wound around a core body. The transport mechanism transports the medium supplied from the roll in a transport direction along a transport path. The recording unit performs recording on the transported medium. The rear end detector detects that all of the medium suppliable from the roll was supplied by the transport mechanism. The cutting mechanism cuts the medium in an intersecting direction intersecting the transport direction at a position between the roll holding unit and the recording unit. The control unit cuts the medium by the cutting mechanism based on rear end detection information from the rear end detector.
