Dynamic graduated media collation system
A system for collating and stacking long cut retail edge marker strips exiting a roll fed high speed slitter/perforator/cutter apparatus includes a media collation apparatus that facilitates automated collation of the long retail edge marker strips by collecting them off a surface and through the use of a device of graduated stair configuration separately lifting the retail edge markers from the surface for downstream accumulation. Individual bundles of slit retail edge marker strips are moved in a cross-process direction on integrated shelves of the media collection apparatus by a connected pusher. This allows the bundles to be transferred through the cross-process move in separate bundles before being collated at the end of the move when the pusher retracts to drop the bundles onto a receiving platform.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING STACKING AND SORTING QUALITY IN MACHINE APPARATUS THAT PROCESS MEDIA
A method for evaluating stacking or sorting integrity at an output device of a high-speed apparatus that processes media includes: acquiring an audio data substantially in real-time from the output device of the high-speed apparatus while the high-speed apparatus is in operation, by use of an audio sensor located at the output device; transforming by a processor, the audio data to into a stacking or sorting integrity value; and if the stacking or sorting integrity value exceeds a predetermined threshold, stopping by the processor a document transport of the high-speed apparatus. An apparatus for evaluating stacking or sorting integrity at an output device, and a system for evaluating stacking or sorting integrity at an output device of a high-speed apparatus are also described.

Apparatus and method for stacking card-like data carriers
According to several embodiments, the invention relates to a device and a method for stacking card-like data carriers. The device includes a conveying device for transporting individual card-like data carriers downstream along a conveying path and a stacking unit for selectively transferring and stacking card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying path. The conveying device is arranged to convey the card-like data carriers in such a way that they are fixed to it in a hanging mode of transport. The stacking unit is arranged to selectively release certain ones of the card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying device from the latter in order to transfer them directly into a card magazine and to stack them therein.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STACKING CARD-LIKE DATA CARRIERS
The invention relates to a device and a method for stacking card-like data carriers. The device comprises (i) a conveying device for transporting individual card-like data carriers downstream along a conveying path and (ii) a stacking unit for selectively transferring and stacking card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying path. The conveying device is arranged to convey the card-like data carriers in such a way that they are fixed to it in a hanging mode of transport. The stacking unit is arranged to selectively release certain ones of the card-like data carriers conveyed along the conveying device from the latter in order to transfer them directly—i. e. in particular without intermediate processing, intermediate transport or intermediate storage—into a card magazine and to stack them therein when the card magazine is arranged in a stacking area at a stacking position which, in relation to the direction of gravity, is situated below the conveying path.
Sheet handling machine and sheet handling method
In a sheet handling machine (for example, a banknote handling machine) including a plurality of mounting units, a controlling unit controls a transporting unit and temporary storage units to perform parallel processing mode such that a storage operation for sending a sheet held by a first temporary storage unit among the plurality of temporary storage units to a storage member (for example, a banknote storage bag) and a transport operation for transporting the sheet from the transporting unit to a second temporary storage unit different from the first temporary storage unit are performed in parallel.
