Powered rewind apparatus
A device that is used to rewind loose cable and wire that is typically accomplished by hand, that is, no power is available for driving such apparati. This device is adaptable to, and uses the already existing power on a service truck to power the device.
WINDING DEVICE
A winding device provided with an inlet for drawing a string-shaped winding target member and configured to wind the winding target member includes: a drum having flanges at both end portions of a body in an axial direction thereof and provided rotatably about the an axis of the body,; a drive source configured to rotate the drum, a first guide portion configured to draw the winding target member along a first axis arranged substantially perpendicularly to the axis of the body in a skew relationship, a swing member provided swingably about the first axis, and a second guide portion attached to a tip end of the swing member to guide the winding target member from the first guide portion to the drum.

Reel take-up machine
A reel take-up apparatus includes a frame, a drive mechanism, a pair of support rollers, and a pair of positioning actuators. The frame may be configured to receive a reel from one end. The drive mechanism is generally slidably mounted to the frame and configured to rotate the reel. The pair of support rollers generally extend from the frame and may be configured to provide support to the reel while allowing the reel to rotate. The pair of positioning actuators may be configured to move the pair of support rollers toward and away from each other so as to (i) lift the reel from a support surface, (ii) support the reel during rotation by the drive mechanism, and (iii) lower the reel to the support surface for removal from the frame.
CABLE BLOWING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method and reel design enables blowing cable from a reel into a mid-span access point within a cable conduit. The cable reel includes a central hub, a first flange located proximate one edge of the central hub, a second flange located proximate an opposite, second edge of the hub, and a third flange located between the first and second flanges. A continuous communications cable has first and second portions spooled on first and second reel sections. The technician inserts a first end of the communications cable into a mid-span opening in the conduit, so that the first end of the communications cable is directed toward the first end of the conduit. The first portion of cable is blown off of the first reel section. The technician inserts a second end of the communications cable into the opening in the conduit so that the second end of the communications cable is directed toward the second end of the conduit. The second portion of cable is blown off of the second reel section. Then, a mid-portion of the communications cable is separated from the third flange of the cable reel and resides proximate the opening in the conduit.
Capstan and system of capstans for use in spooling multiple conductors onto a single reel
A capstan includes a lift motor, a flexible lifting member, and a tether assembly. The lift motor is operatively connected to a shaft. The flexible lifting member includes a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to the shaft. The flexible lifting member connects a lift assembly to the lift motor via the shaft. The tether assembly includes a switch arranged between a portion of the flexible lifting member and a portion of the capstan. The second end is connected to the tether assembly. The switch acts as a safety in case of a broken flexible lifting member and allows for an automated unloading cycle.
WIRE WINDING DEVICE AND WIRE WINDING METHOD
A wire winding device includes a lock jig including a pair of tip end portions configured to approach each other or separate from each other. A control portion of the wire winding device is configured to execute: a step of winding a wire onto a winding drum; and a step of making the lock jig sandwich a pulled-out part of the wire, inserting the lock jig into a clip, and opening the tip end portions of the lock jig against biasing force of the clip to open the clip.

Spool Assembly And Method Of Assembly
A spool configured to support a roll of material. The spool comprises an arbor, a first flange, and a second flange. The first flange includes a first plurality of flange panels that are rotatably connected to respective arbor panels of the arbor at a first arbor edge of the arbor. The second flange is connected to a second arbor edge of the arbor. The first flange is configured to transition between a retention configuration and an open configuration. In the retention configuration, the roll of material is substantially prevented from removal from the arbor along an arbor axis by the first and second flanges. In the open configuration, the roll of material is removable from the arbor and receivable on the arbor in the arbor direction.
