REMOVABLE WEAR HUBS FOR A SPOOL OR REEL
A spool or reel for carrying spoolable or coilable material comprises first and second sides, a drum disposed there between at least one flange secured to a side and associated with the axis of rotation of the spool. The flange comprises a socket preferably centered about the axis of rotation and configured to receive a replaceable wear hub. The flange and replaceable wear hub are configured to transmit torque there between so that relative rotation between the components is minimized or eliminated.
ROBOTIC CORE PLUG INSERTER
The present invention relates to a new and useful method and apparatus for automatically inserting core plugs into wound paper cores that support rolls of paper, plastic film and other materials during manufacture.
Separator winding core, separator roll, and method of cleaning separator winding core
The invention provides for a reduction in the period of time necessary for recycling a separator winding core around which a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery separator is wound. The separator winding core is described by the Munsell color system as (i) a lightness of not less than 3.0 but not more than 9.2 and (ii) a chroma of not less than 0.5.
Spool Repair
The instant application discloses, among other things, a way to repair a spool. In one embodiment, the way to repair the spool may include a disk configured to receive a coupler. The coupler may be projected from a center of the disk. In another embodiment, the coupler may have prongs with various dimensions attached along its length. This may provide a fix for damaged flange portions of wire or cable spools, thereby preventing cable or wire, wound around a spool's tubular core, from coming undone or tangling.
