A brake assembly for an elevator system includes a guide rail configured to guide movement of an elevator car. Also included is a safety brake operatively coupled to the elevator car and having a brake surface configured to frictionally engage the guide rail. Further included is a safety brake actuation mechanism operatively coupled to the safety brake and configured to actuate the brake member to a braking position. The safety brake actuation mechanism includes a sensing device disposed at a distance from the guide rail to determine a speed of the elevator car relative to the guide rail. The safety brake actuation mechanism also includes a first rigid plate having an inner edge disposed at a distance from the guide rail that is less than the distance that the sensing device is spaced from the guide rail to prevent the sensing device from contacting debris disposed on the guide rail.

The invention is directed to an elevator track cleaner. The track cleaner is provided in a rectangular scrub brush configuration, providing a platform with a raised handle affixed to the top surface. The bottom surface provides a longitudinal band of stiff, flexible bristles along the centerline, and two longitudinal bands of small hooks on either side of the bristles for the purpose of securing a flexible white scrub pad. The pad is used to scrub the elevator track, with the bristles urging the pad into the groove where the track is located.

The invention is directed to an elevator track cleaner. The track cleaner is provided in a rectangular scrub brush configuration, providing a platform with a raised handle affixed to the top surface. According to one embodiment, a method for monitoring a door rail of an elevator system is provided which comprises operating the elevator system to at least partially open a door, and to close the door at a slow speed, detecting that a door switch is closed and sending a signal when the time it takes for the door switch to close is over a predetermined value. The method for monitoring may be periodically commanded by an elevator control system.

The present invention relates to a rust removing device for an elevator guide rail and aims at solving a problem of great time and labor taken and insufficient rust removal due to that rust of existing guide rail is removed manually. The rust removing device comprises: a support; a rust removal rack, mounted on the support and covering guide rail; and a rust removal material, arranged on a U-shaped inner wall of the rust removal rack and fitted with a surface of the guide rail. The rust removing device of the present invention has advantages that the rust of the guide rail is removed automatically instead of being removed manually, featured by a high rust removing speed, energy saving, simple maintenance, and less influence on users due to long-time service stop because of rust removal.

An elevator guide rail cleaning system is provided having at least one cleaning member configured to move from a first position to a second position, the cleaning member having a cleaning surface, wherein, in the first position, the cleaning surface is configured to not be in contact with a guide rail, and in the second position, the cleaning surface is in contact with the guide rail.

The present invention provides an elevator guide rail cleaning apparatus and a cleaning method using the same, which belongs to the technical field of elevators.
