Free fall winch
The invention relates to a free fall winch comprising a drum, which can be rotationally driven by a winch drive, wherein a free fall brake is provided for braking the drum in free fall operation. According to the invention, a torque acting on the free fall winch, which depends on the free fall braking torque, is detected by means of a detection device, and a brake actuation force with which the free fall brake is actuated is controlled or adjusted by a control device according to the detected torque.

In various embodiments, the load brake includes a first shaft defining an annular hollow portion and a radially outer surface; a second shaft defining an engagement portion and a radially inner surface, the radially inner surface configured to engage the radially outer surface; a first reaction plate coupled to the first shaft; a second reaction plate coupled to the second shaft; and a plurality of friction discs, with at least one of the plurality of friction discs coupled to a cup and disposed between the first reaction plate and the second reaction plate, the annular hollow portion of the first shaft being configured to lock to the engagement portion of the second shaft upon thinning of the plurality of friction discs.
Automatic load brake having wear-induced locking mechanism
An automatic load brake having a wear-induced locking mechanism for a hoist is disclosed. In various embodiments, the load brake includes a first shaft defining an annular hollow portion and a radially outer surface; a second shaft defining an engagement portion and a radially inner surface, the radially inner surface configured to engage the radially outer surface; a first reaction plate coupled to the first shaft; a second reaction plate coupled to the second shaft; and a plurality of friction discs, with at least one of the plurality of friction discs coupled to a cup and disposed between the first reaction plate and the second reaction plate, the annular hollow portion of the first shaft being configured to lock to the engagement portion of the second shaft upon thinning of the plurality of friction discs.
WINCH BRAKE DEVICE
A winch brake device that is used for a work machine and generates a braking force on the basis of a brake manipulation, includes a pressing member that brings braking members into pressure contact with each other to generate the braking force, a first brake cylinder that applies a first pressing force for bringing the braking members into pressure contact with each other to the pressing member, and a second brake cylinder that applies a second pressing force different from the first pressing force to the pressing member. The first brake cylinder and the second brake cylinder are capable of applying the first pressing force or the second pressing force independently of each other.

In various embodiments, the load brake includes a first shaft defining an annular hollow portion; a second shaft defining an engagement portion, the engagement portion configured for sliding disposition within the annular hollow portion; a first reaction plate coupled to the first shaft; a second reaction plate coupled to the second shaft; and a plurality of friction discs, with at least one of the plurality of friction discs coupled to a cup and disposed between the first reaction plate and the second reaction plate, the annular hollow portion of the first shaft and the engagement portion of the second shaft being sized and configured to accommodate thinning of the plurality of friction discs.
