The present invention relates to a lifting system and method for lifting a vehicle, wherein the lifting system including one or more lifting devices and: a frame with a carrier configured for carrying the vehicle; a drive for driving the carrier in at least one of the ascent or descent of the carrier; and a controller including an indoor positioning system with a transponder, wherein the transponder is provided on or at the carrier such that the controller determines the location and the height of the carrier in at least one of the ascent or descent of the carrier.

A lift assembly including a lifting structure, a lifting arm, a yoke structure fixed to the lifting structure, a pin pivotally coupling the lifting arm with the yoke structure, and an integrated anti-rotational assembly associated with both the yoke structure and the pin. The lifting structure can actuate relative to the ground between a lowered position and a raised position. The lifting arm is configured to actuate with the lifting structure between the lowered position and the raised position. The integrated anti-rotational assembly can inhibit rotation of the pin relative to the yoke structure about the longitudinal axis of the pin.

The method includes providing a base for the elevator; positioning a lifting device on the base; raising an upper component of the elevator by way of the lifting device; positioning a lower component, which is to be arranged underneath the upper component, under the raised upper component; lowering the upper component onto the lower component by way of the lifting device; and removing the lifting device from the base. Further specified is an elevator constructed according to said method.
