Multifunctional filling valve

A filling valve for filling a container with a filling product, e.g., a beverage in a beverage filling system, includes a valve base body. The valve base body includes an outlet configured to discharge the filling product into the container; a swirl chamber configured to receive the filling product and is able to be brought into a fluidic connection with the outlet; and a main inlet, which feeds into the swirl chamber and is configured to introduce at least one main component of the filling product into the swirl chamber such that the filling product is swirled in the swirl chamber, whereby after exiting from the outlet the filling product flows downwardly in a spiral movement in the container. The swirl chamber has an annular shape, the cross-sectional contour thereof having a rounded shape, substantially without corner points, in the direction of extent and perpendicular to the direction of extent.

FILLING METHOD

A filling method includes storing liquid in a liquid tank; pressing a seal member of a filling head against a mouth of a vessel to seal the mouth; providing a liquid valve in a liquid passageway which connects an inside of the liquid tank to the vessel via the filling head; providing a gas valve in a gas passageway connecting a headspace of the liquid tank to the vessel via the filling head; providing a snifting valve in a snifting passage which connects the vessel to an outside via the filling head; detecting an amount of the liquid supplied to the vessel; and when the liquid is a non-fizzy liquid, opening the liquid valve to supply the liquid to the vessel while a compressor pressurizes the inside of the liquid tank, the gas valve is closed, the snifting valve is opened, and the mouth of the vessel is sealed.

A container such as a beverage container is characterized by a device arranged within the container to impart a laminar flow to a fluid being poured or dispensed within the container. The laminar flow device is arranged in either the central portion of the container or in a side wall of the container. In a preferred embodiment, the flow device includes a plurality of flutes which slow the flow of the beverage into the container. In addition, the container bottom wall is preferably concave to provide a smooth transition for the flow of beverage from the laminar device to the container bottom and up the interior of the container during filling. The laminar device reduces the formation of foam within the fluid during filling of the container. A flow director is also provided for connecting a fluid dispenser with the laminar flow device.

FILLING SYSTEM

A filling system includes a liquid tank for storing liquid; a compressor for pressurizing the inside of the liquid tank; a filling head having a seal member adapted to be pressed against a mouth of a vessel and filling the liquid to the vessel through a liquid passageway while the mouth of the vessel is sealed by the seal member; a liquid valve provided in the liquid passageway; a gas passageway connecting a headspace of the liquid tank to the vessel; a gas valve provided in the gas passageway; a snifting passage connecting the vessel to the outside; and a flowmeter for detecting the amount of liquid supplied to the vessel. When the liquid is a non-fizzy liquid, the liquid valve is opened while the liquid tank is pressurized, the gas valve is closed and the snifting valve is opened.

Filling valve and liquid filling method

A filling valve for filling liquid into a bottle is provided that comprises a nozzle having an outlet on its bottom end and a seat on its interior surface, a stem arranged inside the nozzle and having a plug provided on its outer periphery, a helical vane provided on the outer periphery of the stem for inducing a spiral flow, and a bevel with expanding diameter in the downward direction is provided at the bottom end of the stem. The filling valve is closed when the stem descends and the plug makes contact with the seat. The filling valve is opened when the stem ascends and the plug separates from the seat. The bevel is extended below the outlet when the plug is opened. The liquid revolved via the helical vane and ejected from the outlet is spread by the bevel toward a bottle finish or neck.

Method for filling cylindrical containers, in particular cans, and filling arrangement of a filling device and a container

In a method for filling a predefined cylindrical container, a closed filling valve is moved with its filling tip through the container opening into the container. A gas contained in the container is displaced or compressed in the container. The container opening is sealed about the filling valve; the point in time of sealing determines a pressure in the container. The container is filled by opening the filling valve to allow fluid flow. The end face of the filling valve is below a fluid level in a radial gap volume between container wall and filling valve. Upward movement of the filling valve is adjusted according to predefined control parameters; filling occurs below fluid level in that the fluid level is above the end face of the filling valve. The filing valve is closed upon reaching the predefined filling volume. The closed filling valve is removed from the container.

Method for Filling Cylindrical Containers, in Particular Cans, and Filling Arrangement of a Filling Device and a Container

The invention relates to a method for filling a container and to a filling arrangement consisting of a filling device and of a predefined cylindrical container (2), the concentric container opening (21) of which has a diameter (d.sub.Do) that is 70 to 99.5% of the container inside diameter (d.sub.Di). The filling device is equipped with a filling valve (1), which has a piston (10, 100) controllably guided in a filling tube (11, 112). The filling device serves to fill the cylindrical container (2) and, for this purpose, has an outside diameter (d.sub.Fa) that is coordinated with the diameter (d.sub.Do) of the container opening (21) such that a filling tip of the filling valve (1) is received into the container (2) without friction and, to the extent possibly, without play. In the container (2), the inserted filling tip of the filling valve (1) occupies a volume (V.sub.F) that lies in a range of 49 to 99% of the container volume (V.sub.D). The method, which is carried out without a vent tube and substantially without measuring means, is based on the fact that the filling valve (1), when received in the container (2), displaces a corresponding gas volume out of the container (2) or compresses a corresponding gas volume in the container (2), and then the filling valve (1) is opened and is moved upward in a coordinated, controlled manner in such a way that a lower-layer filling process is achieved, in which the fluid level always lies above the end face of the filling valve (1). The predefined filling volume in the container (2) is achieved when the upward motion is ended, and thus the filling valve (1) can be closed and removed from the container (2).
