Apparatus and Method for Generating Oxygen from Sodium Percarbonate and Water, Including Seawater
An apparatus and method generate oxygen gas from sodium percarbonate and water including seawater. The apparatus includes a chamber, a valve system, and an output port. The valve system controls combining a quantity of the sodium percarbonate, a quantity of the water, a quantity of potassium iodide, and optionally a quantity of sodium sulfate decahydrate. A chemical reaction between the sodium percarbonate and the water in the chamber generates oxygen gas, which is output at an output port from the chamber. The potassium iodide is a catalyst for the chemical reaction and optionally the sodium sulfate decahydrate is a temperature moderator for the chemical reaction. A ratio between the water and the sodium percarbonate is in a range of 2.5 to 8 by weight. A ratio of the potassium iodide per liter of the water yields a molarity in a range of 0.25 to 1.25.

Portable chemical oxygen generator
A portable chemical oxygen generator for delivering oxygen to a patient is described. The generator includes a housing containing a reaction chamber. Within the reaction chamber is a quantity of a peroxide adduct. A valve is provided with a lower portion of the valve in fluid communication with the reaction chamber. An upper portion of the valve is in fluid communication with a reservoir that holds a quantity of an aqueous solution. An internal chamber is formed within the valve by releasable seals that separate the internal chamber from the upper portion of the valve and a lower portion of the valve. The internal chamber holds a quantity of a peroxide-decomposing catalyst. The generator also includes a valve actuator. Operation of the valve actuator releases the seals in the valve and creates a fluid path from the reservoir through the internal chamber into the reaction chamber. When the valve is actuated, the aqueous solution flows from the reservoir through the internal chamber and into the reaction chamber. This flow washes the catalyst into the reaction chamber along with the aqueous solution. The solution and catalyst mix with the peroxide adduct and cause an oxygen-generating reaction.
Portable System for the Production of Oxygen
A portable oxygen generating system is provided that comprises a reaction chamber, a feed system for providing and controlling hydrogen peroxide solution to the reaction chamber, and a cooling/condensing system for cooling the hot oxygen and water vapor leaving the reactor and condensing and removing water. The portable chemical oxygen generation system produces humidified, breathable oxygen, that is substantially free of hydrogen peroxide and other contaminants, at a controlled flow and temperature over an extended period of time.
SYSTEM FOR GENERATING SUPERHEATED STEAM USING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
The invention relates to a system for generating superheated steam using hydrogen peroxide, formed by: a container for storing hydrogen peroxide, which stores a solution of peroxide that is used during the reaction to generate superheated steam; a hydrogen peroxide discharge pump connected to a first connecting duct, said discharge pump being used to pump the hydrogen peroxide solution to a reaction container via a second connecting duct; and a steam generating reaction container or reactor, in which the reaction takes place and the superheated steam is generated, said reaction container or reactor receiving the hydrogen peroxide solution in order for the reaction to take place and the superheated steam to be generated and subsequently conveyed through a nozzle and an outlet duct towards installations that are to undergo cleaning and/or stimulation.
Activated Carbon Catalyst for Hydrogen Peroxide Decomposition, Method for Producing Same, and Method for Decomposing Hydrogen Peroxide by Using Same
Disclosed herein are an activated carbon catalyst for hydrogen peroxide decomposition, a preparation method thereof and a hydrogen peroxide decomposition method using the same. The activated carbon catalyst for hydrogen peroxide decomposition, provided in an aspect of the present invention may be easily prepared through the carbonization and activation of an ion exchange resin, and safer and higher decomposition efficiency of hydrogen peroxide may be achieved than the conventional catalyst for hydrogen peroxide decomposition through the control of the manganese content and pore properties in the catalyst.
