PROCESS FOR THE INTEGRATED PRODUCTION OF H2 AND AVIATION KEROSENE FROM A RENEWABLE RAW MATERIAL
20230049829 · 2023-02-16 ·

The present invention addresses to a process for the integrated production of H.sub.2 and aviation kerosene from renewable raw materials aiming at reducing CO.sub.2 emissions and consequently bringing benefits to reduce the impact of global warming on the planet. The process involves a hydrotreatment section to obtain n-paraffins followed by a hydroisomerization section to produce isoparaffins. The water and light hydrocarbons obtained in the isoparaffin production process are used for the production of H.sub.2 by the steam reforming process. An alcohol, such as ethanol or glycerin, with less than 6 carbon atoms, is fed into the hydrotreating section to make up the light hydrocarbon stream used in the production of renewable hydrogen.

Process and plant for producing pure hydrogen

The invention relates to a process and a plant for producing pure hydrogen from an input gas containing hydrogen and hydrocarbons, in particular from a hydrogen-containing refinery off-gas, by steam reforming in a steam reforming stage and multi-stage hydrogen enrichment. According to the invention the input gas containing hydrogen and hydrocarbons is separated in a first hydrogen enrichment stage into a hydrogen-enriched substream and a hydrogen-depleted substream, wherein at least a portion of the hydrogen-enriched substream is supplied to a second hydrogen enrichment stage or introduced into the pure hydrogen product stream and at least a portion of the hydrogen-depleted substream is supplied to the steam reforming stage as a reforming feed stream or as part thereof and/or to the burners as a fuel gas stream.

METHOD FOR STABLE OPERATION OF A STEAM REFORMING SYSTEM

A method can be employed to regulate and stably operate a steam reforming system that is operated by steam reforming, that has a capacity utilization level that can be regulated, and that comprises a steam reformer, a hydrogenating and desulfurizing unit that is positioned upstream of the steam reformer and is configured for feedstock desulfurization, and a firing unit of the steam reformer. According to the method, a mandated capacity utilization level for the steam reforming system is established with automated regulation of the following continuously monitored parameter ratios: a hydrogen-to-feedstock ratio in the hydrogenating and desulfurizing unit, a steam-to-carbon ratio in the steam reformer, and a fuel-to-air ratio in the firing unit of the steam reformer.

Process for H2 and Syngas Production

A process for producing syngas that uses the syngas product from an oxygen-fired reformer to provide all necessary heating duties, which eliminates the need for a fired heater. Without the flue gas stream leaving a fired heater, all of the carbon dioxide produced by the reforming process is concentrated in the high-pressure syngas stream, allowing essentially complete carbon dioxide capture.

PRODUCTION OF LOW OR NO CARBON INTENSITY HYDROGEN
20230069202 · 2023-03-02 ·

A process for producing low or no carbon intensity hydrogen. In one embodiment, the process includes the step of pretreating a hydrocarbon gas stream. The pretreated hydrocarbon gas stream is fed into a reformer. The pretreated hydrocarbon gas steam is heated in the reformer to produce a synthesis gas stream and a flue gas stream. The flue gas stream is fed to a waste heat recovery section. Waste heat is recovered to increase the thermal efficiency of the process. The synthesis gas stream is fed to a shift gas reactor. Carbon monoxide from the synthesis gas stream in the shift gas reactor is converted to produce hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is separated from the synthesis gas stream and the hydrogen is separated. In another embodiment, the carbon dioxide is captured following the hydrogen separation. In another embodiment, the carbon dioxide is captured from the flue gas.
