Alumina material
Provided is alumina material comprising alumina and zirconium, wherein in a radial distribution function obtained by Fourier-transforming an extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectrum of a K absorption edge of the zirconium in the alumina material, the value of I.sub.B/I.sub.A is 0.5 or less where I.sub.A is a maximum intensity among the intensities of peaks present at 0.1 nm to 0.2 nm, and I.sub.B is a maximum intensity among the intensities of peaks present at 0.28 nm to 0.35 nm.
ALUMINIUM AND ZIRCONIUM-BASED MIXED OXIDE
The present invention relates to a mixed oxide of aluminium, of zirconium, of cerium, of lanthanum and optionally of at least one rare-earth metal other than cerium and lanthanum that makes it possible to repair a catalyst that retains, after severe ageing, a good thermal stability and a good catalytic activity. The invention also relates to the process for preparing this mixed oxide and also to a process for treating exhaust gases from internal combustion engines using a catalyst prepared from this mixed oxide.
Cerium- and zirconium-based mixed oxide
The invention relates to a mixed oxide composed of zirconium, cerium, lanthanum and at least one rare earth oxide other than cerium and lanthanum, having a specific porosity and a high specific surface area; to the method for preparing same and to the use thereof in catalysis.
ALUMINA WITH A PARTICULAR PORE PROFILE
The present invention relates to an alumina with a particular pore profile and good thermal stability. This alumina is also characterized in that it has a high bulk density. The alumina has, after calcining in air at 1100° C. for 5 hours: a pore volume in the range of pores with a size of between 5 nm and 100 nm which is between 0.50 and 0.75 mL/g, more particularly between 0.50 and 0.70 mL/g; and a pore volume in the range of pores with a size of between 100 nm and 1000 nm which is less than or equal to 0.20 mL/g, more particularly less than or equal to 0.15 mL/g, or even less than or equal to 0.10 mL/g.
Novel Intermediate Material Between Precursor and Cathode Active Material
A process for forming an active cathode material. The process comprises forming a precursor comprising a lithium salt and a multi-carboxylic acid salt of at least one of nickel, manganese or cobalt; heating the precursor in a metal lined vessel to a temperature of no more than 600° C. to form an intermediate material; and heating the intermediate material to a temperature of over 600° C. to form said active cathode material.
Zirconia-based compositions for use as three way catalysts
A cerium-zirconium based mixed oxide composition have: (a) a Ce:Zr molar ratio of 1 or less, and (b) a cerium oxide content of 10-50% by weight. The composition has (i) a surface area of at least 18 m.sup.2/g, and a total pore volume as measured by N.sub.2 physisorption of at least 0.11 cm.sup.3/g, after ageing at 1100° C. in an air atmosphere for 6 hours, (ii) a surface area of at least 42 m.sup.2/g, and a total pore volume as measured by N.sub.2 physisorption of at least 0.31 cm.sup.3/g, after ageing at 1000° C. in an air atmosphere for 4 hours, and (iii) Dynamic Oxygen Storage Capacity (D-OSC) value as measured by H.sub.2-TIR of greater than 500 μmol/g at 600° C. after aging at 800° C. in an air atmosphere for 2 hours. COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING CERIUM AND ZIRCONIUM AND METHODS FOR PREPARING SAME USING OXALIC ACID
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising zirconium and cerium having a surprisingly small particle sizes. The compositions disclosed herein contain zirconium, cerium, optionally yttrium, and optionally one or more rare earths other than cerium and yttrium The compositions exhibit a particle size characterized by a Dso value of about 20 μm to about 45 μm and a D.sub.99 value of about 55 μm to about 1 00 μm. Further disclosed are processes of producing these compositions using oxalic acid in the process. The compositions can be used as a catalyst and/or part of a catalytic system for automobile exhaust gas.
MATERIALS, METHODS AND TECHNIQUES FOR GENERATING DOPED CERIUM OXIDE
Doped cerium oxide particles may comprise about 90 weight percent (wt. %) to about 99.9 wt. % cerium oxide (CeO.sub.2) and up to about 10 wt. % dopant. Exemplary doped cerium oxide particles may have a BET specific surface area of more than 150 m.sup.2/g after calcination at 500° C. for 8 hours. Exemplary doped cerium oxide particles may have an oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of more than 900 μmol.Math.O.sub.2/g after calcination at 500° C. for 8 hours.
PROCESS FOR MAKING CERIUM AND ZIRCONIUM CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS USING MESITYLENE AND COMPOSITION MADE BY SAME
Disclosed herein are catalyst compositions having improved mercury intrusion volume and surface areas and processes for making these compositions. The enhanced compositions disclosed herein contain zirconium, cerium, optionally yttrium, and optionally one or more rare earths other than cerium and yttrium. Further disclosed are processes of producing these compositions involving supercritical drying after addition of mesitylene. The compositions can be used as a catalyst and/or as part of a catalyst system in an automobile exhaust system.
Iron oxide pigments containing Al
Aluminium-containing iron oxide pigments of the formula Fe.sub.2-xAl.sub.xO.sub.3 with x values from 0.01 to 0.25, characterized in that they possess an a* value of 30.5 to 32.5 CIELAB units and a b* value of 25.5 to 30.5 CIELAB units, measured in each case as full shade in the alkyd resin according to DIN EN ISO 787-25:2007.
