A device for removing ions from a solution. The device includes first and second end plates, an anion exchange membrane positioned between the first and second end plates, a first multiple of two or more first cation intercalation electrodes positioned between the first end plate and the anion exchange membrane, and one or more second intercalation electrodes positioned between the second end plate and the anion exchange membrane. The first multiple of two or more first cation intercalation electrodes and the one or more second intercalation electrodes are configured to receive an electric bias of current or voltage such that the first multiple of two or more first cation intercalation electrodes and the one or more second intercalation electrodes store and release ions from the solution.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE DEIONIZATION ELECTRODE
THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO AN APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSITE DEIONIZATION ELECTRODE, IN WHICH, IN A COMPOSITE DEIONIZATION ELECTRODE MANUFACTURING PROCESS, AN ION EXCHANGE LAYER HAVING A UNIFORM THICKNESS CAN BE COATED IN A STATE IN WHICH THE TENSION OF A SHEET ON WHICH THE ION EXCHANGE LAYER IS FORMED CAN BE SUFFICIENTLY SECURED, THUS ENABLING THE MASS PRODUCTION OF A HIGH-QUALITY COMPOSITE DEIONIZATION ELECTRODE.
PROCESSES FOR TREATMENT OF RESIDUALS
There are provided processes for treating a residual. For example, such processes can comprise treating a mixture comprising the residual, a peracid or source thereof and an ammonium salt in a reactor, with an electric field, by means of at least one anode and at least one cathode that define therebetween an electrokinetic zone for treating the mixture. Such processes allow for inactivation of at least one type of pathogen in the residual so as to obtain a treated residual.
Graphene-Magnetite Conductive Skeleton Electrode, Preparation Method and Application Thereof, and Method for Treating Petrochemical Wastewater
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of microbial electrochemical technology, in particular to a graphene-magnetite conductive skeleton electrode, a preparation method and application thereof, and a method for treating petrochemical wastewater. In the present disclosure, the surface roughness of the graphite rod electrode can be increased by the conductive skeleton modified on the surface of the graphite rod electrode, which is beneficial to the enrichment of microorganisms. The increase in the load of microorganisms will mean the amount of electroactive microorganisms will also increase, which will further improve the electron transfer ability, and because the material of the modified layer is a conductive material, it is also more conducive to the transfer of electrons; at the same time, the conductive skeleton modified on the surface of graphite rod electrode can also further enhance the transmission distance of electrons because of the skeleton constructed.
Metal coated polymembrane
A metal coated polymer membrane, a method for the production thereof, an electrofiltration device, or an electrosorption device, and a method of electrofiltration and electrosorption using a metal coated polymer membrane. The polymer membrane is coated with metal using Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD).
Compressible foam electrode
A foam electrode comprising surface treatment by the steps of: 1) impregnating soft compressible polymeric foams with a conductive coating via sequential infiltration synthesis and 2) functionalizing the chemically altered voids with an ultrathin redox coating to enhance capacitive deionization (CDI). The redox coating will allow treated foam to absorb ions under the application of a bias, and mechanical compression/decompression. The CDI apparatus uses the void volume of the foam in the uncompressed state to flow liquids through it while the compressed state is used to enhance desalination by limiting the diffusion pathways for the ions to find an adsorption surface.
Titanium sub-oxide/ruthenium oxide composite electrode and preparation method and application thereof
A titanium sub-oxide/ruthenium oxide composite electrode and a preparation method and application thereof. Titanium-based titanium sub-oxide nanotubes is taken as a bottom layer, and titanium sub-oxide doped ruthenium oxide is taken as a surface composite active layer. A titanium substrate is anodized in a fluorine-containing ionic electrolyte, taken out, subjected to heating and roasting, cooled and then subjected to cathodic electrochemical reduction in polarizing liquid, so that a titanium-based titanium sub-oxide nanotube electrode is obtained; and then the titanium-based titanium sub-oxide nanotube electrode is taken as a cathode to be electrodeposited in a ruthenium trichloride electrolyte doped with titanium sub-oxide powder, taken out and then subjected to heating and roasting, so that the titanium sub-oxide/ruthenium oxide composite electrode is obtained.
Methods and systems for electrochemical oxidation of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluroalkyl contaminants
The present disclosure provides methods, electrodes, and systems for electrochemical oxidation of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluroalkyl (PFAS) contaminants using Magnéli phase titanium suboxide ceramic electrodes/membranes. Magneli phase titanium suboxide ceramic electrodes/membranes can be porous and can be included in reactive electrochemical membrane filtration systems for filtration, concentration, and oxidation of PFASs and other contaminants.

The present invention relates to a carbon-nanotube/nano-adsorption-material-based electrode and an electrochemical valuable-metal recovery device using the same, and more particularly to an environmentally friendly carbon-nanotube/nano-adsorption-material-based electrode and an electrochemical valuable-metal recovery device using the same, in which valuable metals selectively adsorbed from e-waste wastewater are oxidized using, as an anode, an electrode including carbon nanotubes and a nano adsorption material capable of selectively adsorbing valuable metals and are simultaneously reduced at a cathode, thereby separating and recovering valuable metals.
WATER SOFTENING INTERCALATION SYSTEMS
A device for removing ions from a solution. The device includes first and second intercalation hosts, an anion exchange membrane, a first compartment extending between the first intercalation host and the anion exchange membrane, and a second compartment extending between the second intercalation host and the anion exchange membrane. The first and/or second intercalation hosts include a mixture of first and second intercalation materials.
