An electroactive bio-carrier module and a sewage treatment device using same are provided, which relate to the field of bioelectrochemistry and sewage treatment. The electroactive bio-carrier module is composed of an anode module and a cathode module made of a conductive material. The anode module is formed by connecting carbon fiber brushes in series and is of a vertically ring type structure; the cathode module is formed by connecting stainless steel meshes in series; the stainless steel meshes are in a folded horizontal stacked design; the anode and cathode modules are connected through an external lead wire to form a circuit. Surfaces of the anode and cathode modules can both enrich microorganisms, biofilms are formed on the surfaces. The electrode module is arranged in an up-flow type sewage treatment device and is used as an electroactive bio-carrier, to form a hybrid sewage treatment device with a built-in electroactive bio-carrier.

When the water tank assembly is attached to the body, the third inlet of the water tank couples to the first outlet of the body, and the third outlet of the water tank couples with the second inlet of the body.
OZONE GENERATING ELECTRODE, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING OZONE USING SAME
Proposed are an ozone generating electrode, a method of manufacturing the same, and a method of producing ozone using the same. The ozone generating electrode includes a support including a metal, a catalyst layer positioned on one surface or both surfaces of the support, and a coating layer positioned on the catalyst layer and including a metal oxide. The ozone generating electrode is energy efficient, stable, and provides a high concentration of ozone to a water system. In addition, when water treatment is performed with the ozone generating electrode of the present invention, it is possible to more effectively decompose pollutants during water treatment and to reduce the electrode replacement cycle, thereby reducing water treatment operation time and cost.
OFFSHORE MOBILE PLATFORM FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL OCEAN IRON FERTILIZATION AND HYDROGEN GAS GENERATION
An ocean iron fertilization (OIF) method and system for electrochemically controlled release of iron in an ocean to stimulate growth of phytoplankton to increase CO.sub.2 sequestration by the ocean. The system includes a cathode submerged or floating in the ocean; an iron or iron-producing anode submerged or floating in the ocean spaced apart from the cathode; and a power supply unit connected to the cathode and the anode. The power supply unit drives electric current between the cathode and the anode such the anode generates oxygen (O.sub.2) and ferrous iron through electrolysis to be released in the ocean, and the cathode produces hydrogen (H.sub.2) and hydroxide (OH—) species through an electrochemical reaction at the cathode.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIO-ELECTRICALLY GENERATING POWER FROM ORGANIC INGREDIENTS OF A WASTE WATER
For bio-electrically generating electric power from organic ingredients of a waste water flowing in a flow direction, an anode is immersed in the waste water in a first spatial area, and oxygen is supplied to a cathode which is electrically connected to the anode and arranged in a second spatial area delimited from the first spatial area by means of a proton-permeable membrane. A voltage between the anode and the cathode is increased by a DC/DC converter located at the anode and the cathode, and a further voltage between a further anode in said or a further first spatial area and a further cathode in said or a further second spatial area is increased by a further DC/DC converter located at the further anode and the further cathode. A DC voltage link is charged with the DC/DC converter and the further DC/DC converter connected in parallel to the DC voltage link.
Softening apparatus
A softening apparatus in which resistance applied between electrodes is decreased to reduce power consumption. The softening apparatus includes a regeneration unit and a softening unit. The regeneration unit includes at least one anode and cathode in a first space which generate regeneration water containing hydrogen ions (H+). The softening unit is disposed in a second space partitioned from the first space and includes an ion exchange body regenerated by the regeneration water.
Systems And Methods For Ozone Water Generator
A novel cell for generating ozonated water, the cell comprises a nafion membrane separating a diamond coated anode, and a gold surfaced cathode enclosed within a cell housing with the catalyst side of the nafion membrane facing the cathode. The cell housing has a cathode housing portion and an anode housing portion separated by the membrane, each housing portion having ridges to enhance substantially even flow of fluid over the cathode and anode. The housing portions contain O-rings in grooves to prevent leaks, and alignment features to keep the electrodes aligned. The cathode and anode have an array of holes allowing fluid to penetrate to the surface of the niobium membrane. Input ports allow fluid to flow into the housing and over the anode and cathode and then out of the housing through outlet ports. The housing may also incorporate an integrated spectral photometer including a bubble trap.
REACTIVE ELECTROCHEMICAL MEMBRANE FILTRATION
A system and method for algal harvesting and destabilization are provided. The system includes a multifunctional reactive electrochemical membrane (REM). The application of an electrical current generates reactive species at the REM surface and oxidizes algae and soluble organic compounds. This novel type of membrane filtration avoids the use of harmful chemical additives. In addition, it provides the benefits of avoiding polymer aging, membrane fouling, and high costs caused by high transmembrane pressures and frequent membrane cleaning. Traditional membrane separation that significantly suffers from membrane fouling due to either the formation of a cake layer of algal cells, or more commonly due to organic matter adsorption onto the membrane surface is significantly avoided.
