PURIFICATION DEVICE AND PURIFICATION METHOD FOR WATER UTILIZING FILTER CARTRIDGES
A purification device for water has a housing with a longitudinal axis, an upper and a lower end and a substantially round cross section. The device includes a first receptacle, arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a first purification medium, and a second receptacle, which is also arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a second purification medium. The receptacle for the second purification medium is arranged eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the housing.
DISTILLATION PROCESSES, DISTILLATION UNITS, AND SYSTEMS THEREFOR
Processes and systems suitable for purifying or otherwise treating liquids to remove contaminants therein, including but not limited to contaminated water, to permit reclaiming, recycling, and reuse of the liquids. Such a process and system entails the use of a cascading distillation system that evaporates a liquid from the feedstock and then condenses and collects a more purified form of the liquid. The cascading distillation system can be operated to selectively process the feedstock through any of a series of vessels at which different amounts and/or contaminants may be removed from the feedstock.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING A CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE FROM HUMAN EXCRETA
The invention relates to a method for removing a chemical substance from human excreta, such as faeces and urine, comprising the following steps of: providing a toilet for a person from whose excreta the chemical substance must be removed; releasably connecting a filtering device to the toilet, wherein the filtering device comprises at least one removable cartridge with a filter; transporting the excreta by means of a transport screw from the toilet toward the filter in the cartridge, wherein pressure is exerted on the excreta by means of a plunger; filtering the chemical substance out of the excreta in situ using the filtering device; periodically replacing the at least one cartridge; and processing the replaced cartridge. The invention also relates to a filtering device for application in this method, and a cartridge for use in such a filtering device.
Flow-through fluid purification device
A flow through fluid purification device (1) comprising a container (5) arranged such that fluid can flow through a volume (8) of the container (5) from an inlet (3) to an outlet (7), and an inner cylinder (10a) inserted or insertable into the volume (8) of the container (5) and defining an interface wall (11) permeable for radiation with a wavelength in the UV-range, preferably between 150 nm and 200 nm, wherein the container (5) includes plurality of axially arranged cylinder parts (5b,5c,5d,5e) connected to each other by welding to form an outer cylinder assembly (5a).
WATER PURIFIER
A water purifier includes a water purification unit, and an ice making unit. The water purification unit includes: a water filter for filtering introduced raw water to provide the purified water and unfiltered living water; a purified water tank including a first storage for storing unfiltered water, a second storage for storing the purified water discharged from the water filter, and a separation membrane formed of an impermeable material which independently partitions the first storage and the second storage and has elasticity, wherein the second storage shrinks when the first storage expands, and the first storage shrinks when the second storage expands; a flow channel connecting the water filter, the purified water tank, and the ice making unit to provide a passage through which the raw water, the living water, and the purified water flow; and a valve unit including a plurality of valve modules.
Sorbent emitter for direct air capture of carbon dioxide
An emitter apparatus is mounted on a marine structure powered by wind or marine hydrokinetic energy to disperse a carbon dioxide sorbent such as sodium hydroxide. The sorbent can be generated by reverse osmosis of seawater with electrolysis of the brine, or delivered from an external supply. Suitable marine structures include offshore wind turbines, marine hydrokinetic generators, offshore oil platforms, merchant vessels, and other fixed and mobile structures. Effective capture is made by dispersing a fine mist or fog of aqueous sorbent from nozzles with a particle size from a nozzle of less than 100 microns. The sorbent reacts with atmospheric carbon dioxide forming carbonates and bicarbonates, which drift and fall to the ocean surface, reducing surface acidity and capturing additional atmospheric carbon dioxide via absorption at the local ocean surface. The resulting carbonates sink to the ocean floor and are there sequestered.
SYSTEM FOR CAPTURING AND RECYCLING WASHING COMPONENTS
A system and method of capturing washing agents and washed item particulates. The washing agents and washed item particulates are contained in a pad placed over an existing surface where they are captured. The washing agents and washed items are sent to a central depository for recycling and separation for clean disposal. The depository allows for re-usable portions of the washing agents to be re-used as part of the system while unusable residuals are separated for proper treatment or disposal.
MODULAR ANAEROBIC DIGESTION POINT-OF-WASTE RENEWABLE ENERGY APPARATUS AND METHOD
There is disclosed a modular anaerobic digestion point-of-waste to renewable energy system. The system is directed to a modular and scalable anaerobic digestion system for point-of-waste use. The System includes a pretreatment process for removing inhibitory nutrients from a feedstock, an in-treatment process for providing clean renewable energy and a post-treatment process for further providing clean renewable energy for subsequent use. The System includes a leaching bed; a liquids tank; a mixing tank; an anaerobic digester reactor; a precipitation tank; a stripping tank; a hydrogen sulfide scrubber; a water remover; a gas bladder; a dewaterer; and a flare system.
Media purification devices having intergral flow controllers
A purification device is provided that includes a porous container, purification media retained in the porous container, and a flow controller integral to the porous container. A purification device is also provided that includes a porous elastic container, purification media, and a flow controller. The porous elastic container has a pocket formed therein. The purification media is compressibly retained in the porous elastic container. The flow controller is elastically retained in the pocket of the porous elastic container.
