PROCESSES FOR TREATMENT OF RESIDUALS

There are provided processes for treating a residual. For example, such processes can comprise treating a mixture comprising the residual, a peracid or source thereof and an ammonium salt in a reactor, with an electric field, by means of at least one anode and at least one cathode that define therebetween an electrokinetic zone for treating the mixture. Such processes allow for inactivation of at least one type of pathogen in the residual so as to obtain a treated residual.

Method for enhancing deep degradation of proteins in sludge

The present invention relates to a method for enhancing deep degradation of proteins in sludge. The method includes the following steps: an anaerobic digestion product of excess sludge as a substrate is treated by Van Soest's washing method to obtain the sludge free of easily degradable organics and containing degradation-resistant proteins; then, with the anaerobic digestion product of excess sludge as an inoculum and the sludge free of easily degradable organics and containing degradation-resistant proteins as a substrate, a first-stage microbial electrolytic cell coupled anaerobic digestion system is started for treatment to obtain a microbial mixture related to targeted degradation of the degradation-resistant proteins; with the microbial mixture related to targeted degradation of the degradation-resistant proteins as an inoculum and the anaerobic digestion product of excess sludge as a substrate, a second-stage microbial electrolytic cell coupled anaerobic digestion system is started to obtain the sludge with deeply degraded proteins.

CRUDE OIL SLUDGE TREATMENT AGENT, CRUDE OIL SLUDGE TREATMENT METHOD AND CRUDE OIL SLUDGE TREATMENT AGENT KIT

The crude oil sludge treatment agent is mixed with crude oil sludge and water and used for treatment of the crude oil sludge under alkali conditions. The crude oil sludge treatment agent contains green rust. The crude oil sludge treatment agent may further contain either or both a metal and a metal ferrite. The metal and the metal of the metal ferrite are one or more selected from the group consisting of aluminum, yttrium, zinc, copper, tin, chromium and silicon. The crude oil sludge treatment agent may also contain one or more selected from the group consisting of aluminum ferrite, yttrium ferrite and zinc ferrite. The crude oil sludge treatment method includes a mixing step in which crude oil sludge, water and green rust are mixed under alkali conditions.

METHOD FOR TREATING SLUDGE USING SOLAR THERMAL CONCENTRATORS

This invention is a novel method to thermally process wet WWTP sludges, including biosolids, so that they can be classified. Wet biosolids or other WWTP sludges are passed through the heating zones of one or more solar thermal systems so that the sludges are heated to a target temperature to meet the requirements for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency classification. Various catalysts are provided before the sludges enter the heating zone and within the heating zone to optimize the treatment of the sludges.

HYDRODYNAMIC CAVITATION SYSTEM FOR THE REMOVAL OF UNWANTED, TOXIC, OR CONTAMINATED ORGANIC AND INORGANIC COMPOUNDS
20230077333 · 2023-03-16 · ·

An advanced hydrodynamic cavitation system includes a housing, a first stator with angled ridges, a second stator that is circular with angled ridges, a rotor having rotor blades housed within the second stator, and a driveshaft, and is configured to work with a motor, a pump, and oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or ozone to form free radicals. Hydrodynamic cavitation occurs (1) on the leading edge of the rotor blades; (2) in the constriction between the rotor blades, depending on the design; (3) in the gap between the first stator and the rotor blades; and (4) in the gap between the second stator and the rotor blades. The four cavitation regions may coalesce to become a steady-state supercavitation cloud that removes unwanted, toxic or contaminated organic and inorganic compounds, specifically with the ability to treat and decontaminate sludge, wastewater, ballast water, drinking water, harmful algal blooms, and biomedical waste.
