Ultra low melting glass frit and fibers
Disclosed herein are methods for forming low melting point glass fibers comprising providing a glass feedstock comprising a low melting point glass and melt-spinning the glass feedstock to produce glass fibers, wherein the glass transition temperature of the glass fibers is less than or equal to about 120% of the glass transition temperature of the glass feedstock. The disclosure also relates to method for forming low melting point glass frit further comprising jet-milling the glass fibers. Low melting point glass frit and fibers produced by the methods described above are also disclosed herein.
ROTOR
A rotor for a fiberising apparatus includes a rotor housing; a first and second bearing assembly, wherein each bearing assembly has at least two ball bearings, each seated in a respective bearing seat; a substantially horizontal shaft rotatably mounted between the first bearing assembly and the second bearing assembly; and a plurality of resilient dampers arranged in an annular ring, wherein each resilient damper is releasably connected at a first end to the bearing seat and is releasably connected at a second end to the inner wall of the rotor housing.

INTEGRATED PLANT FOR REFUSE INCINERATION AND FOR PRODUCING ROCK WOOL, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE PLANT
A refuse incineration plant with an incineration device for generating steam, at least one downstream steam turbine with electricity generator for generating electric current, and for generating refuse products. Electricity, steam, processed refuse products of the refuse incineration plant, processed, fusible rock or rock mixture and processed refuse fibres and dusts are used to operate a rock wool production plant, the refuse heat and exhaust air being fed to the combustion device of the refuse incineration plant.
FIBRE PRODUCING MACHINE WITH IMPROVED MAINTENANCE
A machine for fiberizing mineral wool by free centrifugation, includes a frame on which is mounted at least one centrifugation wheel, the centrifugation wheel being connected to a transmission shaft designed to rotate it by transmitting the movement of rotation of an output shaft of a drive unit, wherein the machine further includes at least one intermediary transmission box connected at least by one input to the drive rod and by one output to the transmission shaft, the intermediary transmission box being arranged such as to transmit the movement of rotation of the drive shaft to the transmission shaft.
Apparatus and method for monitoring melt stream within a fiberizing apparatus
This invention addresses technical problem of optimizing output of a melt cascade, which is used in production of mineral fiber (so called mineral wool as known in state of the art being stone wool, slag wool or other type of mineral wool). These technical problems are solved by steps of determining (a) trajectory of movement of a melt stream, (b) melt concentration relative to surrounding air between the first and the second rotating wheels, and (c) movement vector, and further by regulating of movement of melt stream (i.e., drop mass), said regulation mostly achieved through variation in point of contact of melt and rotating wheel or plurality thereof. This is achieved by determining three key parameters: (a) trajectory of movement of melt stream, (b) melt concentration relative to surrounding air between the first and the second rotating wheels, and (c) movement vector, and further by analyzing these three key.
Method for producing rock wool and recoverable cast iron
The invention relates to a method for producing rock wool and cast iron by melting a mixture of materials such as basalt, blast-furnace slag, coke and components necessary for melting, with an admixture containing alumina, said admixture making it possible to adjust the alumina content in order to obtain a rock wool having the following composition (as wt %): Al2O3: 18-22; SiO2: 40-50; CaO: 10-15; MgO: <10; FeO: <2; Na2O: <4; K2O: <2. The method includes the following operations: producing by melting a slag and a cast iron, separating the slag and the cast iron, and performing a fibring operation on the slag followed by a bonding operation in order to obtain the rock wool. According to the invention, at least one spent adsorbent and/or catalyst is used as an admixture, said catalyst containing alumina in Al2O3 form. Said adsorbent and/or catalyst preferably contains at least one metal, and said metal is retrieved in the cast iron.
