One aspect relates to a process for the preparation of a quartz glass body, including providing a silicon dioxide granulate, wherein the silicon dioxide granulate was made from pyrogenic silicon dioxide powder and the silicon dioxide granulate has a BET surface area in a range from 20 to 40 m.sup.2/g, making a glass melt out of silicon dioxide granulate in an oven and making a quartz glass body out of at least part of the glass melt. The oven has at least a first and a further chamber connected to one another via a passage. The temperature in the first chamber is lower than the temperature in the further chambers. On aspect relates to a quartz glass body which is obtainable by this process. One aspect relates to a light guide, an illuminant and a formed body, which are each obtainable by further processing of the quartz glass body.
Process for the preparation of a glass-ceramic blank for dental purposes
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a glass-ceramic blank for dental purposes with lithium silicate as crystal phase, in which lithium silicate blanks that are no longer required and in particular residues thereof are used as starting material and which allows the production of a homogeneous starting glass within a short time.
Preparation of quartz glass bodies from silicon dioxide granulate
One aspect relates to a process for the preparation of a quartz glass body including, providing a silicon dioxide granulate obtainable from a silicon dioxide powder, wherein the silicon dioxide granulate has a larger particle size than the silicon dioxide powder, making a 5 glass melt out of silicon dioxide granulate and making a quartz glass body out of at least part of the glass melt. The melting crucible has at least one inlet and at least one outlet. A least part of the glass melt is removed via the melting crucible outlet. One aspect further relates to a quartz glass body which is obtainable by this process. One aspect further relates to a light guide, an illuminant and a formed body, which are each obtainable by further processing 10 of the quartz glass body.
Method for Preparing Porous Glass for Electronic Cigarette
The present application discloses a method for preparing porous glass for an electronic cigarette, comprising the following steps: heating quartz glass to a molten state for granulation; mixing boron-silicon powder and quartz glass granules, and heating a mixture to a temperature between 600° C. to 900° C. to cover peripheries of the quartz glass granules with the boron-silicon powder; and sintering the quartz glass granules covered with boron-silicon in a preset mold to obtain the porous glass for the electronic cigarette. The technical solution according to the present application can greatly improve the smoking taste of the electronic cigarette.
Optical glass, preparation method thereof, backlight module and display module
Optical glass, a preparation method thereof, a backlight module and a display module. The optical glass comprises a glass substrate and optical masterbatches, which are dispersed in the glass substrate, each optical masterbatch comprises a quantum dot fluorescent agent inner core and an encapsulation shell which encloses the quantum dot fluorescent agent inner core. A quantum dot fluorescent agent is protected by the encapsulation shell and the luminous efficiency is high; when the optical glass is applied to a display module, the color gamut may be improved; moreover, the glass is capable of preventing against the invasion of water vapor, even the quantum dot fluorescent agent at an edge of the glass rarely fails, and an edge failure size is basically avoided; meanwhile, the expansion coefficient is small, and an expansion space reserved during assembly is extremely small.
EXPANDED-GLASS GRANULAR MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
In a method for producing an expanded-glass granular material, starting materials containing glass powder, water glass, at least one blowing agent, and metakaolin, are mixed in order to form a homogeneous slurry. The slurry is granulated to form raw granular-material particles, which are foamed at a baking temperature between 780° C. and 950° C. in order to form expanded-glass granular-material particles. The expanded-glass granular material has a long-term water absorption of less than 25 volume percent when the expanded-glass granular material is exposed to water for a time period of 21 days.
BRIQUETTES
A briquette for use as a mineral charge in a cupola furnace for the production of mineral wool fibres is produced by combining: a) recycled waste mineral wool selected from i) waste mineral wool comprising uncured sugar containing binder, ii) waste mineral wool comprising cured binder, iii) waste mineral wool without binder and iv) combination thereof, b) cement, and c) additional sugar(s) to form a mouldable mixture and moulding and curing the mouldable mixture to form the briquette.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OPAQUE QUARTZ GLASS
A method for manufacturing a large sized opaque quartz glass ingot having excellent heat ray shielding and light blocking properties without using a foaming agent. The obtained opaque quartz glass has small diameter spherical bubbles and a preferable mechanical strength. Silica powder is dispersed in water to form a slurry having a silica powder concentration of 45 to 75 wt % and the average particle size of the silica powder is adjusted to 8 μm or less and the standard deviation of the particle size is adjusted to 6 μm or more by wet pulverization. The slurry is sprayed for forming granules of the silica powder. An opaque quartz glass ingot with a small bubble diameter and high mechanical strength is obtained by melting the granulated silica powder.
GLASS PRODUCTION METHOD AND INDUSTRIAL GLASS-MAKING FACILITY
The invention relates to a glass production method comprising charging a glass furnace with solid-state raw materials, said raw materials comprising granular glassy sodium silicate and having a moisture content of less than 1%, preferably 0%, by weight, and powdered calcium oxide.
High-strength glass-ceramic-based lightweight aggregates and preparation method thereof
The invention discloses high-strength glass-ceramic-based lightweight aggregates and the preparation method thereof. The mass ratio of raw material components is 50-70 parts of engineering muck, 20-40 parts of glass, 3-7 parts of calcium carbonate, 3-7 parts of magnesium oxide, and 2-10 parts of a nucleating agent; the nucleating agent is at least one of calcium fluoride, titanium dioxide, and chromium oxide. After crushing, mixing, and granulating, spherical particles with a particle size of 10-12 mm are formed; and then the product can be obtained after drying, sintering, and cooling. The obtained lightweight aggregate from the invention has a diopside matrix which provides high strength and a low water absorption rate at low densities. Moreover, waste glass and engineering muck could be utilized with high value.
