COMPOSITE PARTICLE PRODUCTION METHOD, COMPOSITE PARTICLE AND MIXTURE
A method for producing a composite particle, the method containing: (a) mixing a raw material particle and at least one type of fine particles selected from SiO.sub.2 fine particles and Al.sub.2O.sub.3 fine particles, the fine paricles having a diameter smaller than that of the raw material particle; and (b) heating the mixture of the raw material particles and the fine particles, wherein the raw material particle contains three components of ZnO, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, and SiO.sub.2, and a content of the ZnO is 17 to 43% by mole, a content of the Al.sub.2O.sub.3 is 9 to 20% by mole, and a content of the SiO.sub.2 is 48 to 63% by mole, based on the total content of the three components.
CARRIER FOR POWDER MATERIALS
A carrier for delivering powder materials includes a microsphere, such as a glass microbead, bead and a coating provided on the glass microbead. If the powder material is an inorganic powder, the coating is preferably a dipodal polysiloxane. If the powder material is an organic powder, the coating is preferably vinyl polysiloxane. The microsphere carrier provides a controlled distribution of the powder material for industrial and other applications.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING WAVELENGTH CONVERSION MEMBER, AND WAVELENGTH CONVERSION MEMBER
Provided is a process for producing a wavelength conversion member which can suppress the reaction between inorganic nanophosphor particles and glass to suppress the deterioration of the inorganic nanophosphor particles, and the wavelength conversion member. The process for producing a wavelength conversion member includes the steps of: preparing inorganic nanophosphor particles 1 with an organic protective film formed on respective surfaces thereof; and mixing the inorganic nanophosphor particles 1 with glass powder and firing a resultant mixture in a temperature range where the organic protective films remain as retained films 3.
Polycrystalline abrasive compacts
A method of manufacturing polycrystalline abrasive elements consisting of micron, sub-micron or nano-sized ultrahard abrasives dispersed in micron, sub-micron or nano-sized matrix materials. A plurality of ultrahard abrasive particles having vitreophilic surfaces are coated with a matrix precursor material in a refined colloidal process and then treated to render them suitable for sintering. The matrix precursor material can be converted to an oxide, nitride, carbide, oxynitride, oxycarbide, or carbonitride, or an elemental form thereof. The coated ultrahard abrasive particles are consolidated and sintered at a pressure and temperature at which they are crystallographically or thermodynamically stable.
GLASS BASED EMPTY SUBSTRATE INTEGRATED WAVEGUIDE DEVICES
The present invention includes a method of creating high Q empty substrate integrated waveguide devices and/or system with low loss, mechanically and thermally stabilized in photodefinable glass ceramic substrate. The photodefinable glass ceramic process enables high performance, high quality, and/or low-cost structures. Compact low loss RF empty substrate integrated waveguide devices are a cornerstone technological requirement for RF systems, in particular, for portable systems.
Coated wavelength converting material for a light emitting device
Embodiments of the invention include a transparent material such as glass including a metal such as bismuth, particles of luminescent material such as a nitride phosphor disposed in the transparent material, and a coating disposed over the particles of luminescent material. The coating is formed to prevent reaction between the particles of luminescent material and the metal. The coating may be silica.
Wavelength-converting film and semiconductor light emitting apparatus having the same
A wavelength-converting film includes a sintered body formed of a mixture of a wavelength-converting material and a glass composition. The wavelength-converting material includes a quantum dot having a core-shell structure and a protective layer coating a surface of the quantum dot. A shell of the quantum dot contains at least one of Zn, S, and Se, the protective layer does not contain S and Se, and the glass composition includes a SnO.sub.2P.sub.2O.sub.5SiO.sub.2-based composition.
Surface Modified Particulate In Sintered Products
Disclosed are coated inorganic particulate and polymer composite material for use in molding/sintering processes. The composite material is uniquely adapted for forming powdered materials into solid objects and associated processes. Improved products are provided under process conditions through surface interfacially modified powders.
CERAMIC COLOURS
The invention relates to ceramic colours comprising effect pigments and a sol-gel based glassy matrix for decoration of metallic, ceramic and glassy articles and to a process for the preparation of a ceramic glaze.
