THERMOCHROMIC MATERIALS AND PREPARATION METHOD
The disclosure pertains to thermochromic materials, coatings, to coated articles and to preparation methods. In addition, the disclosure relates to thermochromic particulate material comprising vanadium (IV) oxide. A described preparation method involves curing of the coating using two curing stages performed with different oxygen levels.
Interior coatings for glass structures in electronic devices
An electronic device may include electrical components and other components mounted within a housing. The device may have a display on a front face of the device and may have a glass layer that forms part of the housing on a rear face of the device. The glass layer and other glass structures in the electronic device may be provided with coatings. An interior coating on a glass layer may include multiple layers of material such as an adhesion promotion layer, thin-film layers of materials such as silicon, niobium oxide and other metal oxides, and metals to help adjust the appearance of the coating. A metal layer may be formed on top of the coating to serve as an environmental protection layer and opacity enhancement layer. In some configurations, the coating may include four layers.
AUTOMOTIVE GLAZING WITH NEUTRAL COLOR SOLAR CONTROL COATING
Due to the increased glazed area of modern vehicles, especially the large panoramic glass roofs, we have seen a substantial growth in the use solar control glass and coatings. The solar glass compositions and coatings are expensive to manufacture. While solar coatings are more efficient than compositions, they typically cannot be used on monolithic glazing as they are not durable. They must be applied to one of the surfaces on the inside of a laminate. Most of these products also introduce an undesirable color shift. The invention provides a coating that can be used on glass to produce a laminated or monolithic glazing with a neutral gray solar control coating which also has anti-reflective properties and low emissivity.
Laminate, method for manufacturing electronic device, and method for manufacturing laminate
The present invention provides a laminate that can eliminate adsorption defects of a substrate caused by warping of the substrate and enables electronic devices to be manufactured at high yield. The present invention pertains to a laminate that is provided with a support base material, an adhesion layer, and a substrate in said order. The substrate is provided with a dielectric multilayer film in which dielectric layers having different refractive indexes are alternately laminated on an outer surface of the substrate. The substrate provided with the dielectric multilayer film is disposed on the adhesion layer such that the dielectric multilayer film adheres in a peelable manner to the adhesion layer.
ANTIREFLECTION STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
An antireflection structure comprising a transparent substrate having a plurality of holes with U-shaped or V-shaped cross-sectional shapes perpendicular to a flat surface portion and a metal oxide film disposed on the surface portion of the transparent substrate and in the space portions formed in an upward direction from the bottom portions of holes in the transparent substrate, wherein the average diameter of the openings of the holes is 50 nm to 300 nm, the average distance between the center points of openings of the adjacent holes is 100 nm to 400 nm, and the depth of each hole from the surface portion of the substrate is 80 nm to 250 nm; and the thickness of the metal oxide film disposed in each of the space portions increases as the depth of each of the holes becomes larger, thereby reducing the difference in depth between the holes from the uppermost surface portion of the metal oxide film disposed on the surface portion to the surface portions of the metal oxide films in the space portions.
Vanadium Oxide Compositions and Systems and Methods For Creating Them
A system for creating targeted vanadium oxide (VO.sub.2) nanoparticle compositions comprising a stock reaction mixture that is a fluid combination of at least one vanadium source combined with at least one dopant source. Each dopant source contains at least one target dopant element. The ratio of the number of vanadium atoms in the vanadium source to the number of target dopant element atoms in the dopant source is less than or equal to 10:1. A solvent that is compatible with said stock reaction mixture is selected. A pressure regulator increases the pressure of the solvent and the stock reaction mixture to between 0 and 5,000 psi. A heating element increases the temperature of the solvent to between 50 and 500° C. A mixing unit receives and mixes a continuous flow of stock reaction mixture with solvent to heat the stock reaction mixture and initiate formation of the targeted vanadium oxide (VO.sub.2) nanoparticle composition.
THERMOCHROMIC MATERIALS
Described are thermochromic materials. Described thermochromic materials include materials comprising vanadium (IV) oxide and a solid component obtained from a precursor having film-forming properties. Also described are preparation methods for thermochromic materials.
GLASS LAMINATE AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A glass laminate includes a glass substrate; and an anti-reflection layer laminated on the glass substrate and a minimum of absorbances of the glass laminate in wavelengths of 380 to 780 nm is 0.01 or more.
Optical component, preferably with improved degradation resistance, and method for producing same
An optical component with improved degradation resistance is provided. The optical component includes an optical material and a coating. The optical material has a native surface that is susceptible to degradation processes. The coating is a layer of an inorganic material and is applied so as to be substantially contiguous so that there are no continuous paths between fluid surrounding the optical component and the optical material.
COATED SUBSTRATE AND PROCESS OF PREPARATION
A coated glass substrate comprising: a transparent glass substrate coated with a blocking layer comprising a material having Si—O—Si bonds and a blocking component, wherein the blocking component comprises fluorone and/or a fluorone derivative.
