Disclosed is a glass-based flexible cover window with improved strength including a planar portion formed so as to correspond to a planar region of a flexible display and a folding portion formed so as to be connected to the planar portion, the folding portion being formed so as to correspond to a folding region of the flexible display, wherein the flexible cover window includes a glass substrate and a polyimide (PI) coating layer formed on the glass substrate. The PI coating layer is formed on the glass substrate by direct coating, whereby inherent texture of glass is maintained while the overall thickness of the flexible cover window is reduced, and therefore aesthetics of the flexible cover window are improved.

When film thicknesses of the first and second films are θ.sub.1 nm and θ.sub.2 nm respectively, and when, in the glass plate, a haze value measured from the first surface side for a configuration provided with the first film only is H.sub.1 (%), and a haze value measured from the second surface side for a configuration provided with the second film only is H.sub.2 (%), a value of θ.sub.1 divided by H.sub.1 is 500 or more but 1200 or less, and a value of θ.sub.2 divided by H.sub.2 is 300 or more but 750 or less.

Textured glass articles and methods of making the same

A method is described herein of making a textured glass article where the method includes: providing a glass substrate having an initial primary surface and an opposing primary surface; disposing a protective coating on at least one of the initial primary surface or the opposing primary surface; and etching the glass substrate with a hydrofluoric acid-free etchant having a pH of about 7 or less to form a leached layer in the glass substrate.
