Inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules and their preparation method and application

The present invention discloses inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules and a preparation process and use thereof. The present invention develops through encapsulation technology a novel type of lightweight particles, namely, inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules comprising expanded perlite as a core material and a cementitious material as a shell material, forming a core-shell structure in which a perlite core is encapsulated in a cementitious shell. The cementitious material including cement and fly ash is coated onto the surface of expanded perlite particles through an encapsulation process by a pelletizer under controlled water spraying. The resulting inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules are lower in cost and easier to produce, and have better fire resistance, higher crushing strength, and better compatibility with concrete. The inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules can overcome the problems of conventional lightweight concrete, such as high water absorption and inconsistent performance.

DEVICE FOR PRODUCING EXPANDED GRANULATED MATERIAL

A device for producing expanded granulated material from mineral material in the form of grains of sand with an expanding agent includes a furnace with a furnace shaft, having an upper end and a lower end. A conveying section extends between the two ends and passes through a number of heating zones arranged separately from one another in a conveying direction. The device also includes at least one feeder in order to charge at least the unexpanded material into the furnace shaft at one of the two ends in the direction of the other of the two ends. At least one directing element is at least partly arranged in the furnace shaft and forms a gap with an inner wall of the furnace shaft, at least in the region of one of the two ends. The at least one feeder is designed for charging the material into the gap.

Snap-set, ready-mix joint compound

A joint compound system includes a set-inhibited, pre-wetted, setting-type, ready-mix joint compound and a set initiator. The set-inhibited, pre-wetted, setting-type joint compound includes a ready-mixed, setting-type joint compound base with a calcium-free phosphate set preventing agent that impedes chemical hydration of a gypsum component of the setting-type joint compound. The joint compound base is free of calcium carbonate. The set initiator includes alum to reinitiate the chemical hydration reactions.
