A ceramic electronic component includes a body, including a dielectric layer and an internal electrode. The dielectric layer includes a plurality of dielectric grains, and at least one of the plurality of dielectric grains has a core-dual shell structure having a core and a dual shell. The dual shell includes a first shell, surrounding at least a portion of the core, and a second shell, surrounding at least a portion of the first shell. The dual shell includes different types of rare earth elements R1 and R2, and R2.sub.S1/R1.sub.S1 is 0.01 or less and R2.sub.S2/R1.sub.S1 is 0.5 to 3.0, where R1.sub.S1 and R1.sub.S2 denote concentrations of R1 included in the first shell and the second shell, respectively, and R2.sub.S1 and R2.sub.S2 denote concentrations of R2 included in the first shell and the second shell, respectively.

Multilayer electronic component and method for manufacturing multilayer electronic component

A multilayer electronic component includes a multilayer body including dielectric layers and inner electrode layers, the multilayer body including an electrode facing portion in which the inner electrode layers are laminated to face each other with the dielectric layers interposed therebetween. The multilayer body has a thickness of at least about 1.5 mm in a lamination direction, a length of at least about 3.0 mm, and a width of at least about 1.5 mm. Each of the dielectric layers includes Ba, Ti, and Cl. A Cl concentration C.sub.1 in the entire electrode facing portion satisfies about 10 wtppm<C.sub.1<about 50 wtppm. On an imaginary central axis line, a Cl concentration C.sub.2 in a central portion of the electrode facing portion and a Cl concentration C.sub.3 in both end portions of the electrode facing portion satisfy about 0.5C.sub.2≤C.sub.3<C.sub.2.

DIELECTRIC CERAMIC COMPOSITION AND CAPACITOR COMPONENT

A capacitor component includes: a body including a dielectric layer and an internal electrode layer; and an external electrode disposed on the body, and connected to the internal electrode layer. A surface color of the body is R≤30, G≤30, B≤40 based on R/G/B, and a dielectric constant of the dielectric layer is 2000 or more and 4000 or less.

POLYVINYL ACETAL RESIN

The present invention provides a polyvinyl acetal resin which leaves less fine undissolved matter when dissolved in an organic solvent and thus can improve productivity particularly when used as a binder for a ceramic green sheet, and which can also provide a ceramic green sheet having excellent toughness and enables production of a highly reliable multilayer ceramic capacitor. Provided is a polyvinyl acetal resin having: a wavenumber A (cm.sup.−1) of a peak within a range of 3,100 to 3,700 cm.sup.−1 in an IR absorption spectrum measured using an infrared spectrophotometer; and a hydroxy group content (mol %), the wavenumber A of the peak and the hydroxy group content satisfying relations of the following formulas (1) and (2):

Dielectric ceramic composition and electronic component

Provided is a dielectric ceramic composition comprising a main component of forsterite and calcium strontium titanate. A content ratio of forsterite in the main component is from 84.0 to 92.5 parts by mole, and a content ratio of calcium strontium titanate is from 7.5 to 16.0 parts by mole. (Sr+Ca)/Ti in the calcium strontium titanate is from 1.03 to 1.20 in terms of a molar ratio. With respect to a total of 100 parts by mass of the main component and a subcomponent except for Li-containing glass, from 2 to 10 parts by mass of Li-containing glass is added. The Li-containing glass includes Al.sub.2O.sub.3 in an amount of from 1% by mass to 10% by mass.

CERAMIC CUTTER MATERIAL WITH A PIEZOELECTRIC EFFECT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF, AND CUTTING TOOL

A ceramic tool material, in particular with piezoelectric effect and a preparation method thereof, and a cutting tool. The ceramic tool material includes the following raw materials by weight: 30-70 parts of matrix material, 30-70 parts of piezoelectric material, 5-10 parts of binder, and 10-20 parts of reinforcing phase and can be made into cutting tools. The cutting tool has a piezoelectric effect and excellent mechanical properties and can convert the cutting force signal into the charge signal during machining. By collecting charge signals, a cutting force can be measured and ceramic cutting tool condition can be monitored. Cutting force measurement function and high mechanical properties are integrated. A ceramic tool material with piezoelectric effect can measure the cutting force on the premise by meeting the cutting performance requirements.

MULTILAYER ELECTRONIC COMPONENT

A multilayer electronic component includes: a body including a plurality of dielectric layers and internal electrodes disposed to face each other with each of the plurality of dielectric layers interposed therebetween; and external electrodes connected to the internal electrodes and disposed on outer surfaces of the body, wherein each of the plurality of dielectric layers includes a BaTiO.sub.3-based base material main component and an accessory component including dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb), a content of terbium (Tb) is 0.2 mol or more and less than 1.0 mol based on 100 mol of the base material main component, and the dielectric layer includes a plurality of dielectric crystal grains having a particle size of 60 nm or more and 250 nm or less at a point (D50) at which a cumulative volume is 50% in a cumulative particle size distribution according to a particle size distribution system.

The first component comprises an oxide of Ca of 0.00 mol % to 35.85 mol % an oxide of Sr of 0.00 mol % to 47.12 mol %, an oxide of Ba of 0.00 mol % to 51.22 mol %, an oxide of Ti of 0.00 mol % to 17.36 mol %, an oxide of Zr of 0.00 mol % to 17.36 mol %, an oxide of Sn of 0.00 mol % to 2.60 mol %, an oxide of Nb of 0.00 mol % to 35.32 mol %, an oxide of Ta of 0.00 mol % to 35.32 mol %, and an oxide of V of 0.00 mol % to 2.65 mol %. The second component includes (by mass) at least (a) an oxide of Mn of 0.005% to 3.500% and (b) one or both of an oxide of Cu of 0.080% to 20.000% and an oxide of Ru of 0.300% to 45.000%.

Another vibrator includes an electromechanical transducer which is a piezoelectric ceramic made of sodium-potassium niobate metal oxides and whose temperature characteristics of a relative permittivity is 390 [ppm/° C.] or less in absolute value in a temperature range from 0° C. to 60° C., wherein excitation of the electromechanical transducer produces a vibration wave.

DIELECTRIC COMPOSITION AND MULTILAYER CAPACITOR

A dielectric composition and a multilayer capacitor including the same are disclosed. The dielectric composition including: a BaTiO.sub.3-based main ingredient; a first auxiliary ingredient including rare earth elements; and a second auxiliary ingredient including at least one of Ba and Ca but essentially including Ba, wherein the rare earth elements include Tb and Dy, and the first auxiliary ingredient and the second auxiliary ingredient satisfy a molar content condition of 0.40<(Tb/T_RE)*(Ba+Ca)<0.93, where T_RE is a total molar content of the rare earth elements in the first auxiliary ingredient.
