Ferrite magnet
This ferrite magnet has a magnetoplumbite structure and is characterized in that, when representing the composition ratios of the total of each metal element A, R, Fe and Me with expression (1) A.sub.1-xR.sub.x(Fe.sub.12-yMe.sub.y).sub.z, the Fe.sup.2+ content (m) in the ferrite magnet is greater than 0.1 mass % and less than 5.4 mass % (in expression (1), A is at least one element selected from Sr, Ba, Ca and Pb; R is at least one element selected from the rare-earth elements (including Y) and Bi, and includes at least La, and Me is Co, or Co and Zn). The invention makes it possible to achieve a ferrite magnet with increased Br.
SOLID ELECTROLYTE
A solid electrolyte which contains a garnet-type composite metal oxide phase (L) and shows an excellent lithium ion conductivity is provided. The solid electrolyte contains a garnet-type composite metal oxide phase (L) and a phase (D) different from the phase (L). The phase (L) contains Li, La, Zr, O, and Ga, and an Li site in the phase (L) is substituted with the Ga. A lattice constant of the solid electrolyte is not smaller than 12.96 Å. The phase (D) contains at least one of LiF, BaZrO.sub.3, YF.sub.3, SrF.sub.2, and ScF.sub.3.
Textured planar m-type hexagonal ferrites and methods of use thereof
A grain-oriented M-type hexagonal ferrite has the formula MeFe.sub.12O.sub.19, and a dopant effective to provide planar magnetic anisotropy and magnetization in a c-plane, or a cone anisotropy, in the hexagonal crystallographic structure wherein Me is Sr.sup.+, Ba.sup.2+ or Pb.sup.2+, and wherein greater than 30%, preferably greater than 80%, of c-axes of the ferrite grains are aligned perpendicular to the c-plane.

Provided herein is a method of making a conductive network by combining uncoated carbon nanotubes and carbon nanotubes coated with an electroactive substance to create an electrically conductive network; and redistributing at least a portion of the electroactive substance. Also provided herein is an electrically conductive network with an active material coating; first carbon nanotubes coated with the active material coating; and second carbon nanotubes partially coated with the active material coating, wherein at least a portion of the surfaces of the second carbon nanotubes directly contact surfaces of other second carbon nanotubes without the active material coating between these second carbon nanotubes, and wherein the first carbon nanotubes and the second carbon nanotubes are entangled to form an electrically conductive network.

Provided are a method for preparing a gel composite material with a piezoelectric property, and the gel composite material and use thereof, which belongs to the field of intelligent road traffic. In the method, titanium-containing blast furnace slag and metal oxides (PbO and ZrO.sub.2) are sufficiently and uniformly mixed, an obtained mixture is calcined under a certain thermal system, on the theoretical basis of mineral-phase reconstruction-synergistic regulation of all valuable components, and the mixture is cooled to a room temperature with a furnace to obtain the gel composite material with a piezoelectric property.
Hard PZT ceramic, piezoelectric multilayer component and method for producing a piezoelectric multilayer component
A hard lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramic has an ABO.sub.3 structure with A sites and B sites. The PZT ceramic is doped with Mn and with Nb on the B sites and the ratio Nb/Mn is <2. A piezoelectric multilayer component having such a PZT ceramic and also a method for producing a piezoelectric multilayer component are also disclosed.
High temperature superconducting materials
A superconducting composition of matter including overlapping first and second regions. The regions comprise unit cells of a solid, the first region comprises an electrical insulator or semiconductor, and the second region comprises a metallic electrical conductor. The second region extends through the solid and a subset of said second region comprise surface metal unit cells that are adjacent to at least one unit cell from the first region. The ratio of the number of said surface metal unit cells to the total number of unit cells in the second region being at least 20 percent.
Method for preparing composite materials with an oxide matrix and oxide reinforcements by means of a calefaction process
Method for the preparation, by means of a heating technique, of a composite material composed of a matrix of at least a first oxide of at least one metal and/or at least one metalloid reinforced by reinforcements in at least a second oxide of at least one metal and/or at least one metalloid, characterised in that the following successive steps are carried out: the reinforcements are placed in at least one liquid precursor of the first oxide of at least one metal and/or at least one metalloid; said reinforcements and the liquid precursor are heated so as to form the first oxide by means of the thermal decomposition of said liquid precursor, and to deposit the first oxide thus formed around the reinforcements and between the reinforcements thus forming the matrix.
DIELECTRIC FOR A CAPACITOR AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A method of manufacturing a dielectric for a capacitor and a dielectric for a capacitor manufactured thereby are provided. A dielectric for a capacitor is prepared by calcining a precursor mixture containing lead, lanthanum, zirconium, and titanium to produce calcined powder, adding additives including sodium, potassium, and the like to the powder, and sintering the mixture at a low temperature, whereby the dielectric has a high density and a large dielectric constant.
Ruthenium doped Z-type hexaferrite
In an aspect, a ferrite composition comprises a Ru—Co.sub.2Z ferrite having the formula: (Ba.sub.3-xM.sub.x)Co.sub.2(M′Ru).sub.yFe.sub.24-2y-zO.sub.41, wherein M is at least one of Sr, Pb, or Ca; M′ is at least one of Co, Zn, Mg, or Cu; x is 1 to 3; y is greater than 0 to 2; and z is −4 to 4. In another aspect, an article comprises the ferrite composition. In yet another aspect, method of making the ferrite composition comprises mixing ferrite precursor compounds comprising Fe, Ba, Co, and Ru; and sintering the ferrite precursor compounds in an oxygen atmosphere to form the Ru—Co.sub.2Z ferrite.
