A heat resistant electronic component is disclosed, comprising an electronic component covered by a layer of ceramic thermal insulation material containing lithium molybdate Li.sub.2MoO.sub.4. A process for manufacturing the heat resistant electronic component comprises obtaining ceramic thermal insulation material containing lithium molybdate Li.sub.2MoO.sub.4 in a mouldable form, optionally mixing the ceramic thermal insulation material with at least one additive, covering an electronic component with the material, shaping the material covering the electronic component into a desired form, and drying the desired form at a temperature of from 20° C. to 120° C.

A method includes: providing a mold having a plurality of mold cavities, wherein each mold cavity is bounded by a plurality of faces joined along common edges; filling at least some of the mold cavities with a sol-gel composition that includes a release agent dispersed therein; at least partially drying the sol-gel composition thereby forming shaped ceramic precursor particles; calcining at least a portion of the shaped ceramic precursor particles to provide calcined shaped ceramic precursor particles; and sintering at least a portion of the calcined shaped ceramic precursor particles to provide ceramic shaped abrasive particles. A sol-gel composition, shaped ceramic precursor particles, and ceramic shaped abrasive particles associated with practice of the method are also disclosed.

Systems and Methods for Enabling Communication Between USB Type-C Connections and Legacy Connections Over an Extension Medium

Techniques for supporting USB and video communication over an extension medium are provided. In some embodiments, an upstream facing port device (UFP device) is coupled to legacy connectors of a host device, and a downstream facing port device (DFP device) is coupled to a USB Type-C receptacle of the sink device that may provide both USB and DisplayPort information. The UFP device and DFP device communicate to properly configure the USB Type-C connection for use in the extension environment. In some embodiments, a source device is coupled to the UFP device via a USB Type-C connection, and legacy video and USB devices are coupled to the DFP device. The UFP device and DFP device again communicate to cause the source device to properly configure the USB Type-C connection for use in the extension environment.

The present invention provides A magnesium oxide whisker in-situ formed MA spinel-reinforced magnesium oxide-based ceramic foam filter and a method for preparing the same. The method comprising: 1) preparing a ceramic slurry having a solid content of 60%-70% by dosing 15%-25% by mass of a nanometer alumina sol, 0.8%-1.5% by mass of a rheological agent, and the balance magnesium oxide ceramic powder comprising magnesium oxide whiskers, and then adding deionized water and ball milling to mix until uniform, and then vacuum degassing the mixture; 2) soaking a polyurethane foam template into the ceramic slurry, squeezing by a roller press the polyurethane foam template to remove redundant slurry therein to make a biscuit, and drying the biscuit by heating it to 80° C.-1200° C.; 3) putting the dried biscuit into a sintering furnace, elevating the temperature to 1400° C.-1600° C. and performing a high temperature sintering, cooling to the room temperature with the furnace to obtain the magnesium oxide-based ceramic foam filter.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a SiC—Si.sub.3N.sub.4 composite material and a SiC—Si.sub.3N.sub.4 composite material prepared according to same and comprises the steps of: preparing a mold; and forming a SiC—Si.sub.3N.sub.4 composite material by introducing, to the mold, a source gas comprising Si, N and C, at 1100 to 1600° C. More particularly, the present invention provides the SiC—Si.sub.3N.sub.4 composite material of high purity that is applicable to a semiconductor process, and increases the thermal shock strength of a SiC material by causing Si.sub.3N.sub.4, which is a material with a high thermal shock strength, to grow together via a CVD method.

Porous refractory cast material, its use and production

A porous refractory cast material contains a closed refractory aggregate fraction having a minimum particle size and a maximum particle size; the ratio of maximum particle size to minimum particle size is 10:1 or less. This closed refractory aggregate fraction comprises all of the porous refractory cast material having a particle diameter greater than 0.1 mm. The porous refractory cast material also contains a binder phase containing refractory selected from calcium aluminate cement, alumina phosphate, hydratable alumina, colloidal silica and combinations thereof. Also disclosed is a metallurgical vessel with an interior lining incorporating the porous refractory cast material.

The process includes positioning a positive fluid passage mold within a volume of silicon carbide powder, the powder coated with a binder; pressing the volume of silicon carbide powder with the mold inside to form a pressed body; heating the pressed body to remove the mold; and sintering the pressed body.
